New Update about Provo Craft’s Angel Policy

April 23rd, 2010

We've gotten some great feedback on the Angel Policy revision we made last week as it pertains to cake. It's such great feedback, in fact, that we’d like to do something similar for paper crafters and mixed media artists. Moving forward, we're going to combine cake and other mediums so there's just one Angel Policy for everyone. And at the same time, we’d like to provide a bit more clarity to that policy. This will be the official policy going forward, and while there could be additional adjustments or clarifications from time to time, we don’t anticipate any significant changes in the near future.

This new Angel Policy still does not authorize you to produce and sell individual, unassembled cuts using Cricut products (i.e., mass producing individually-cut letters or shapes to re-sell). It does, however, authorize you to sell up to 10,000 completed projects annually (i.e., cards, scrapbook pages, finished cakes), using cuts made with Cricut products. This revision offers the most flexibility possible to those who wish to create and sell projects made using any of the Provo Craft products, while also protecting the creative ideas and images of the independent artists with whom we work to produce art for our cartridges.

We’ve tried to make this new policy as simple and clear as possible. We hope you’ll be really happy with what it allows you to do. But if there’s any part of this policy that you’re still unclear or unhappy about, please call our customer service department at 1-800-937-7686 and we’ll answer your questions. We also recognize that limiting the sale of completed projects to 10,000 differs from what we shared last week specifically with respect to the use of Cricut Cake. So if you bought Cricut Cake this week and find this revision no longer meets your needs, you can contact Customer Service by April 30, 2010 for a refund.

Imagine the Possibilities!

Imagine the possibilities of what fun cakes could be made if this cake machine would only appear magically to my home by the cake fairy.  I could make so many different cakes considering how many image files are held in my sweet little G!  Oh maybe I will magically have a beautiful red beauty appear on my doorstep.  Oh cake fairy my sweet children are crying and I say send them CAKE!

Stampin' Up?

I love that Stampin' Up takes all the guess work out of combinations.  It also has all of the coordinating embellishments that go between so many different lines.  It is not like one line will come out with all the coordinating embellishments for you to purchase but, when one of the components are gone you cannot pick up another and use it with another package.  With Stampin' Up, you have more time for creativity because it will tell you what goes with the paper.  I hate to try to search out cardstock that will coordinate with a print only to find that no store is carrying a color to match.  Or having to use cardstock or paper that is not exactly what I wanted or the quality because it is close enough to make do.

What do you love about Stampin' Up?  Here are some ladies talking about Stampin' Up.

I am so excited about the new colors that are coming!  If you want to order any of the color lines that are retiring, let me know.

Have a Great weekend!

The Highest Forum of Flattery?

I was wondering what was up on the cricut message board that a long time poster was saying that she was getting messages from the admin about her posts being in conflict.  She was told that her account might be deleted.  Somehow, the product she was endorsing or rather selling, was thought by Provocraft that it would void the warranty of the Cricut.  I am not sure why they think that as they themselves sell a product that does the same thing.  She was just kicking it up to a new level and expanding the use of the machine.  Then, I saw an advertisement flash on another blog for a competitor product to hers.  Ah....could it be that this competitor product that states it is not affiliated with Provocraft or Cricut could still be somehow connected?  I don't know but, it sure smells like spoiling fish to me.

Could this harrassment be the highest form of flattery or rather just an attempt to squash personal creativity?  The craft continues with new ideas and twists and turns.  Isn't it better to have people use your product rather than abandon it to jump to a competitors whole new product line?

I would love if Provo Craft would embrace some of the other third party software ideas out there.  Perhaps compete and add the functionalities or expand upon them kicking the Gypsy up a notch.  I would love to see where we can take a svg or jpg and make it into a file that we can cut.  Or the ability to use all the multitude of fonts available online without having to spend so much on a single font cartridge.  I love the ease of using the Gypsy and would really love to make her sing.

Provocraft rather than swelching the creativity why not embrace it and tap into your consumer base's talents?

Blush Blossom

Well, I was looking at the current color palette and trying to decide if there were any colors that I wanted before they are gone.  Then, it hit me.... what about cricut paper doll dress up or every day paper dolls? or even just a pale skin tone in other creations?  Blush Blossom was the go to color for making paper dolls.  If you want to continue to use Blush Blossom, now is the time to order some.  I'm not sure out of the new colors to come in June what would be the new go to color of choice in the Stampin up line up.  Just something to think about and act on before it is too late.

Happy creating!

Green Bay Green?

I was looking at my color your world post earlier this week and I was wondering .... are they discontinuing Packer Green?  While I am not an expert and I must honestly say that I do not follow a lot of sports, you might want to check the colors that are discontinuing and make a score!  You definately do not want to miss the chance to scrapbook your favorite team or better yet send a card to the team that did not win the playoff.  Didn't Brett Favre move to a team with Purple?  There are a lot of shades of purple that are retiring although who knows if he will retire.  He might want to wait to have his grandchild see him play or at the very least be the only Grandfather playing!  hmmm, did he have anything to do with the 'going grey' retiring?

If you want to order anything, let me know.  To recap, here are the retiring colors:

Enjoy your weekend!

Here Pretty Pretty!

If I say it really sweet and try to coax it here, do you think it will magically appear on my desk?  Is this not the prettiest thing?! WOW! That's a lot of ribbon samples!

These are all the current Stampin Up ribbons!  How much do you want to spend on a ribbon share?

Speaking of which should we do a ribbon share of all available now including the colors that are retiring?  Or should we do a ribbon share of the colors that will carry over?  Or would you like to do a ribbon share in June/July when the new catalog comes out?

Unless you want to order your own full roll?  There is never anything wrong with that either especially if you are making many invitations or thank you cards.  ;)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  This was her first Easter if you could not tell by the rosy cheeks! :)  It was much harder to try to get two kids to look and smile at a camera.  Ok who am I kidding?  It was nice that she wasn't crying long enough to snap a picture! WOW! I do not know how my Grandmother did it with 16 kids....oh I know...she only had one group family picture and most of the family was grown up and having their own kids! lol  Something to scrap about!

I need to get better at Photoshop so, I can remove the bunny and get a cute background on the kids.  I think this would look cute in so many things.

I hope you and your family are making some wonderful Easter memories!

April Showers....Bring May Flowers!

Well, my DH's birthday is this month and how fitting to April that it rained today.  It is hard to believe but, my baby girl will be 1 soon!  Wow! How the time flies!  I have less than 2 months and she will be eating CAKE!

In honor of her pending birthday, I posted her along with fellow friends that were all born in the weeks before and after her birthday above.  She even has a few birthday buddies.  I hope you enjoy all the blinking babies.  She still has many firsts to come and I have to say those that she has had are already memorable.

It is Bow Easy

Do you struggle to try to make perfect bows?  Here is a bow easy tutorial on how to make perfect bows.

You could buy the above bow easy for about $6 or you could use the great cut file that the Narelle created.  The great thing is that she created it in three formats so, if you own a cricut you can create it!

Whether you own a Gypsy or Design Studio or maybe neither, you can still download the free trial version of the Design Studio on your PC.  You can get a copy of the Design Studio Trial download by clicking on the link.

Now, you might ask how do I know which one to cut?  Depending on your machine, the trial version will cut the following cartridges for you depending on which machine you will use.

Cricut Personal - George & Basic Shapes
Cricut Create - Don Juan
Cricut Expressions - Plantin Schoolbook; Accent Essentials.

You can download your free copy Bow-Easy by GirlfromOz.cut.

So as you see, it is Boy Easy!
