Happy Birthday!

Here is my first entry into the cricut expression 2 anniversary edition contest.

I printed the cricut bug using my imagine and storefront cricut cartridge. It was also used for the photo mat.

I also sewed the ribbon to the paper and then folded it to sew again.

I used a zig zag stitch to sew the paper strips to the base.

I picked this cosmo cricket line as it had a nostalgic feel and computer circuitry. The inside of the cartridges and cricut machine has circuit boards as well.

I sewed around the sticker and if you look at the layout, I also adhered irock silver pieces to the circuit board.

I cut this from sweet treats along with the happy birthday title. I also stickled it. The sewing gives it added detail.

I used the irock to add a gem instead of a dotted I.

I then added the stickles to the birthday to bling it.

Here is the back of the layout. Look at all the sewing.

The photo mats were each sewn twice.

Then, finally sewn to the back of the layout to give added strength for the tag in the pocket.

There is a tag behind the cricut machine and the cricut bug head is a tag!

Here is the tag that is behind the cricut machine.  It is pictured folded open.  When you first pull it out, it has the phrase "caught a bug?"

The other side has some room for journaling.

Did you notice all the sewing on the front and back of the tags as well?

Here is the cricut head tag that tucks behind the photo mat.

When you take the tag out and open it, there is the original bug and the current new logo.

On the back when you flip the tag, there is more journaling room.

Again, I used the irock and some divine twine from through the button.

Everything was sewn and inked.

Of course more ribbon was added and a cute charm. I thought to add my circle charm but, as these layouts aren't returned, I didn't want to lose my charm.

But, the circle pin and charm would go great!

and of course some coordinating flowers to give it an added finished touch.

You too can make this layout with cricut imagine, storefront, sweet treats, and everday cricut.

Love... Just a note!

Here is a card using the new Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition machine.  This is with the Just a Note Cricut Cartridge.  In the video, I show you the handbook as well as how I made this card.

If one was not enough fun, I doubled the pleasure and made two little love squirrels.

I think it's fitting as well as the royal wedding is set to begin shortly.  Congratulations to Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton on their soon to be wedding.  Are you watching the broadcast live, taped or not at all?

Spring Wreath!

Hi All
This week the DT over at Sweet Sassy Diva was ask to make a spring time home decor project. Well I went to my mothers this weekend for Easter so I didn't have time to make something, but I wanted to share with you this beautiful wreath she made for Easter. It was made with a round bamboo wreath and then she added silk flowers, eggs and these beautiful bowes. She always ties the best bowes ever. She covers her whole tree in them at Christmas time, it is awesome.
These little eggs are from Michaels and believe it or not  the flowers are from the dollar store.

Updating the Gypsy!

Well....with anticipation of the new E2 arriving, I am updating my devices.  First, is the task of my Gypsy.  I must confess that it has been a while on this one.

For steps and links on updating your Gypsy, Click Here!

Now, if you do have the sync on your desktop, you will have to 'replace' the existing copy.

so, 12:33 pm I start my udate on my Gypsy from version version 1.4 (0206:0212)

Just follow it's prompts.  About 10 minutes later it turned my Gypsy off and asked me to restart it.  Then, it was off racing to update the data file, uploading updates, updating cartridge information, updating cartridge overlays, checking cartridge library, missing fonts, and then it hung!

I called pc hotline and they said to close down the cricut sync window and we would redo it.  So, i did that and unfortunately the gypsy wouldn't release.  He informed me to restart the gypsy thorough the reset button on the back.  Now, I am running the Cricut sync again and there is another update for the Gypsy Imagine.  On to the next approximate hour update according to pc hotline.

So....it says it is uploading updates....Gypsy Imagine - content-full

After all that processed, and reconnecting the gypsy to the cricut sync, it tells me it is updated but, alas no!  I called again and if you go back to open cricut sync and go to the help tab and trouble shooting checking yes on all of it.  Third time a charm right?

Nope!  Apparently, the server crashed!  A third call to provocraft and the word is to wait until tomorrow as they try to get the server back up and running.

I guess all of you should not update your provocraft devices and maybe then I can update mine! lol  I guess it's time to buy more server space on Provocraft's end?

woo hoo!!! It seems my gypsy does look like it updated.  It only took 6 hours!  Off to test it and see if it really works now.  I do see the new E2 cartridges added.  Yea!!!  I am now running version 1.4 (0210:0219).

I wanted to play with the Cricut E2 Anniversary Edition Machine cartridges on my gypsy.

After my update, I do not see the cricut american alphabet.

Cricut Essentials?

YES!!!

Cricut Decals

Yes!

Just a NOTE

Yes!

Time to play!!!

I guess I will call it a day and not update the next device until maybe tomorrow?  Perhaps, it would be better to wait until May if you can?

Flowery Wreath

I was so happy to be able to start/finish this weeks project because it was something I had origially started a few weeks back and had sat over in my craft corner staring at me and taunting me every time I had walked past it asking why I had not finished it yet. It really was a time consuming project because it was all hand cut and formed. I got the idea for this on the DCWV blog and they had displayed these flowers at their booth at CHA. The tutorial for that can be found here...
But I must warn you they take alot of time to make but I am sure your up for the challenge right?!
I traced this petal pattern to the back of my cardstock and started to cut them out. The circle is used as the center piece to glue the petals to.
Here is a few of the petals after I had started to fold them and wet them with water

May All Your Wishes Come True!

I inked all the cuts with a brown ink and added i-rock jewels to the title.  This cut is layered with an orange, red, blue, green and rainbow.  I used Sweet Treats cicut cartridge for the title.

These photo mats were cut using Nursery Rhymes cricut cartridge.  And the photo mat was cut using george and basic shapes.  I added a green ribbon to both mats and this mat has a sun charm.

Here I added a bushel apple button which coordinates with the apple in the tree on the following picture.

The children dancing around the tree is cut from the cricut cartridge Nursery Rhymes.

I used the irock on the i in birthday and stickled it to give it some bling.  Also, I added some white pen dots to the 'happy'.  These were cut from Sweet Treats and I hand cut them apart.

I used cosmo Cricket paper to make this along with solid cardstock.  I also cut the orange using the Cricut Imagine with RGB codes to get the correct color.

I hope you enjoyed my entry.  I look forward to my E2 arriving so, that I can play and do some projects and videos to post.
