Sweet Stamping Treats

For the hop today, I made a banner with the wizard of oz theme for Halloween. Additionally, my darling husband had a hip replacement surgery and this theme was fitting to cheer him up. I heard that he would have a long road ahead of him and I wanted to cheer him up and pimp his ride so to speak or in this case his post-op walker. So, I bought him a few things to deck it out including a wicker basket and toto!

He loves to see all the creative projects and crafts that I make so, here's the banner that I made for him and our little ones to enjoy.

I was excited to use my Graphic45 paper stacks called The Magic of Oz.

I used the Martha Stewart around the punch set called ribbon loop.

The insert in the set is really helpful to determine what size to cut your paper. If you don't follow the guide, you may not match up the loops.

I decided to center Dorothy for a number of reasons.

The most important reason was because home is where the heart is and as it says above, "there's no place like home". After spending time in the hospital, he was so ready to come home.

To maintain the balance, I created a layered pennant next.

It had the green but, needed black, gold and purple.

I trimmed the green block and added a thin rim of black. Then, I added a thicker boarder of the purple print. The remaining black, gold and black were trimmed from the Graphic45 coordinating core'dinations paper stack.

I carefully trimmed around the clock rather than making a straight cut.

The last block, features the scarecrow and tin man.

You can also see above that I added some beautiful cream glitter tulle as well as black. To give it some additional strength, I used the Crop-a-Dile and black eyelets.

Here is a picture of the whole banner:
