Tis the month of love, hearts, flowers, lace and chocolate. So this week at Sweet Sassy Diva we are creating Old Fashion Valentines. This is my finished valentine which is a 5 x 7 card made using a Valentine stack from K and Company I found at Michaels. Love the vintage paper and embellishments.
For the frame on the front I used Elegant Edges page 41 and cut 1 of the frame and 1 of the shadow for the frame. I used my Gypsy and cut it out at 5" x 5.76.
Here are the pieces cut out. I kept the center cuts to use also.
The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. I used a makeup sponge to get into edges.
I then cut the piece for the bottom of the frame and pop dotted the frame shadow.
I also pop dotted the top frame layer. I used a vintage valentine from the stack which was distressed with the same Holtz Tea Dye Ink.
Then it is time to embellish. I used seam binding sprayed with Vintage Rose Glimmer Mist, a crocheted flower from $1 bin at Michaels and a heart and dove from the K and Company embellishment bag. I added diamond Stickles to the heart.
For the inside I used another piece of the heart paper. The oval cut and tiny hearts are from the front frame.
The inside is inked also and another embellishment from K and Company was added.
This was all glued to Kraft paper and the corners were rounded.
I hope you will come back all week to see what the other Sweet Sassy Diva Designers have created.
