Escape!

Tina here from tiggersscrapplace with another post for sweetsassydiva Design Team. Our challenge this week is to use 3 carts or more. Well that's never a problem for me. LOL

I'm still working on my disney albums and had these photos from the Tiki room up next to work on. I went looking for some birds and tiki theme stuff and began creating.

This bird came from the Life's a Beach cart. He looks black here but he really is blue. ;o) The flowers are from Pack Your Bags.

This little guy is from Birthday Bash. I used my cuttlebug to add some interest to the cuts and then my usual pen work.

I hope you enjoy my layout and visit me at my blog for more great Disney layouts!

A Token of Love!

Hello everyone! Mindy from Grammies Craft Room with a vintage Valentine for this weeks challenge, To make this simple card all you need is the Birthday Bash cartridge for the card base cut at 5". The image is something I found online years ago (before I figured out that I should be keeping the websites where they came from) so I can't give you a source... so sorry... and some ribbon to finish it off.
Please check out all the other vintage Valentines project that the design team have made this week. You still have time to make some of your own !

Thanks so much!

I don't know about you, but I feel that when someone has gone to the time and trouble to give you a special gift, they should receive a special thank you. So the theme this week at SweetSassyDive is 'Thanks For The Gift'.
The card base is from Birthday Bash, cut at 5". The presents are from Christmas Cheer and are cut at 1.5". The paper and ribbon are from my collection. The sentiment and image are Stampin Up and the punch is Stampin Up xlg oval .
This card was very quick to put together, after I got the  presents cut.... when will I learn to NOT try to cut things smaller than my Cricut likes to cut them????? Oh well... it all worked in the end :)
I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year !!! Being a part of this AMAZING design team is such a great treat for me. I can't wait to see what new and exciting projects are in store for 2012!!

Fall Banner!

Fall is in the air or on my wall !
For this theme, I chose to make a simple banner using some of my favorite (but almost gone) Stampin Up designer paper.
The banner is cut from Country Life at 7.75". I attached the layers to the ribbon using some copper brads.
The letters are from Birthday Bash cut at 2.5". I inked the edges of the shadow layer with Marina Mist and used dimensionals to attach the top layer. I tied some brown bakers twine to buttons that came from one of my husbands old shirts and randomly placed on each letter.
The rosette is made from 2 strips of 1.5" x 11" paper that is scored every 1/2" and accordion folded. I wish I could show how you to actually finish making these, but there are lots of tutorials out there to help you better than I can :) I can tell you that I have found the only way to hold them together is to dig out the hot glue gun !
I added a brown corduroy button to the center while the glue was still hot... it won't be going anyhwere :)
I apologize for the pictures taken on my well used crafting paper... as you can see, I don't use a new one for each project. Some day I will be better at adding the photo taking into my project plans ... yea , right.... that would mean I actually plan my projects instead of winging it ... hehehe
Recipe is as follows:
Cricut Country Life -  Banner cut at 7.75"
Cricut Birthday Bash -  Letters cut at 2.5"
Papers from Stampin Up
Ribbon from Stampin Up
Button From Stampin Up

Let's Roll!

Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway.  I am honored to be here today as we think back on that awful day on 9/11/01.

I have so many memories from 9/11:  The twin towers getting hit by airplanes, the soot covered people running in the street, the Pentagon getting hit, the president flying over my house on his way to Offutt Air Force Base (15 miles from me) ~ this one freaked me out a little, my husband getting stranded in LA on a business trip, and many many more.  I went out in my back yard that afternoon and planted tulip bulbs in my own weird way I was hoping to plant a little "life" in honor of all of the life lost that morning......

One of the memories that really stood out to me was United Airlines Flight #93.  I was so proud of the people who took over their airplane and took their own lives to spare others.  This plane was on another suicide mission.  These everyday people became heroes that day.  My project today is dedicated to those brave men and women aboard Flight #93 when Todd Beamer said "Let's roll!"
I started out with paper from this Nantucket Stack by DCWV.  I found it at Michaels.

I went to Birthday Bash (my favorite banner cartridge right now) and put theses banners on my mat sized at 3.00w x 4.13h.  I needed 12 banner flags, so I cut out this page twice.

I used this red and white polka dotted paper from Nantucket.

I am trying to use more patterned paper, but the plaid was just too busy.  Good thing the paper is white on the back!!  I just turned it over!  The stars are from Plantin Schoolbook cut at 3.04w x 2.88h.

I cut out the words from Birthday Bash at 1.5 inches.  I used the semi colon for my apostrophe ~ I used Hide Contour to hide the dot.

I cut these out from blue cardstock.
Here is my screen shot of my stars.
I found these starburst shapes from Mother's Day Bouquet and sized them to 3.00w x 2.86h and cut them out in yellow cardstock.

I inked my stars with red ink.  I used my ATG gun to glue down the starburst.  I pop dotted the stars to the starburst and used my ATG gun to glue the letters to the stars.  I added the blue ribbon to connect the banners.

I cut out 01, 9/11 and 11 from Storybook at 1inch.  I welded 9/11 together.

There was no "/" in Storybook, so I took the letter I and used the slant feature from the Advanced menu at 0.30 to create one.

And here is my banner all put together.  Thank you Bobbi Jo for having me here and showcasing my work for such an important piece of history!

To all of the service men and women and their families ~ thank you for all you do for our country!!  The heroes (each and every person who died) of 9/11 will never be forgotten!

Witchy!

Hi!  Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway with a Witchy Banner!  Sometimes that is just how I feel!  Most of the time I just love Halloween.

I started with some paper.  The purple paper is from Nikki Sivils Boo-tiful, and I think I got it at CKC in Kansas City last October.  The green black and orange are cardstock from my stash.

I turned to Birthday Bash for my banner base.  There are several banner shapes to choose from and I wanted to layer two pieces.  I started with the triangle at 3.94w x 4.25h.  I copied and rotated a second triangle, then copied the two of them three times to get 8 triangles on my mat.

I cut them out with the purple plaid.

For the top layer, I chose the zig zag triangle banner sized at 3.92w x 4.25h.  I copied, rotated and copied until I had eight triangles on my mat.

I cut out these in lime green cardstock.

I found the Witches Hat from Mini Monsters and sized it 2.95w x 3.50h.  I used Hide Contour to hide the inside cuts on the hat.  I put eight on my mat.

I cut them out in black cardstock.

On the next layer, I put eight stars from the hat layer (I hid the hat band and circle) along with the word "witchy" from Birthday Bash at 1.0w x 1.12h.

I cut out the stars with some purple scraps.  I found this scrap for the letters with halloween words on it.

Next I jazzed up the hats with some stickles.  I did half of the hat bands purple and the other half lime green.

I put icicle stickles on the stars.

My banner was missing one thing (and I don't have the patience for making rosettes) so I found this shape from Elegant Edges.  I cut out eight of them at 2.90w x 2.76h.

I cut them out in orange card stock.

Here is the shape after I weeded out the inner cuts.

I layered the pieces together to have a look.

I inked the letters with black stamp pad ink and pop-dotted them on the hats.

I put them all together with some polka dotted ribbon.  I am getting better at using patterned paper and busy ribbon together (still prefer solid colors most of the time)!

Here is my banner all together.  I hung it on my daycare door (cackle, cackle)!  Hope you have a wonderful witchy day!!  Thanks for having me over today SweetSassyDiva!!
