Party!

This week the SweetSassyDiva DT was asked to make a birthday party or Valentine's Day party project. I made this layout to scrap some party pics from my babies party (haven't got them printed yet). I used paper that I had in my stash and the Simply Charmed cartridge.
I cut all the cake pieces, hat pieces & the "party" phrase at 2 inches. I cut the balloons out at 1 inch - 2 inches (all different sizes). I used a 2 inch blue balloon to cover the "a" in "party". I put some balloons down with foam tape and the rest with my ATG gun. The photo mats are cut to 4.5x6.5 inchs and 3.5x2.5 inches.
Supplies:
paper: 12x12 confetti boardered paper, confetti covered paper, blue, green, red, orange, & purple cardstock
Other: Simply Charmed cart

Love Buddies!
I had some requests on the recipe for the pink muddy buddies that I made. I modified the recipe and will include the info here.
First, start with 9 cups of Chex Corn, Rice or which varient you like best or have on hand. I used Rice as that was what was in my pantry. I poured it into a glass bowl.
I set that aside and took a microwavable bowl and microwaved 1/2 cup of peanut butter and as you see I only had the chuncky variety with 2 TBS of butter. Be sure to use an oven mitt so that you do not burn yourself as the bowl gets mighty hot! I mixed 1 teaspoon of vanilla into this mixture before I poured it over the cereal.
Pour the peanut butter mixture on to the Chex cereal and mix until it is well distributed.
Now, who likes chocolate? Instead of using the semisweet chocolate chips, I used 2 cups of the colored chocolate discs and 2 TBS of butter. I melted this in a glass bowl in the microwave for approximately 1 minute on HIGH; stir. Microwave about 15 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. I used white and tinted it myself but, you can buy the disc in pink or red etc.
Then, pour into the mixture of chex cereal and mix until blended.
Now, for some dusting fun! I took 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and a package of your favorite pink jello for example strawberry or cherry in the 8 servings size. It also is not the diet variation as let's face it this is NOT diet! ha ha. Pour them into a gallon size plastic bag and shake shake shake to blend.
We're almost done.... take spoon full of the cereal mix at a time and place into the sugar mixture and coat well. Keep adding a spoon at a time shaking between until all has been added and it's well coated. Be sure to zip the bag closed so, you do not have a mess everywhere! :)
I then, placed it into a ramakin and topped off with some red sparkling sugar to give it some bling! OOOH and the Door County sour candy cherries from yes....Wisconsin to put the final touches on it!
To finish it off, make some paper holders which you can find the directions from yesterday or click here!
Be sure to enter the blog hop giveaway too! I'm giving away a cricut cartridge and the others have some awesome prizes as well.

Welcome to the Short and Sweet Blog Hop! I am honored to have been invited to participate in Elizabeth from 217 Creations' Blog Hop! There are so many wonderful resources available now to learn your way around the features but, we were learning and teaching each other. It is wonderful when you meet some wonderful ladies through a shared passion of crafting. Rather than reminescing on all the wonderful ladies in this hop which there is an abundance of talent as you have seen in this hop if you started at http://www.217creations.blogspot.com/ - 217 Creations by Elizabeth and arrived here from http://scrappinmystressaway.blogspot.com/ - Scrappin' My Stress Away by Lori. If you arrived here first, please do go to Elizabeth's blog 217 Creations.
You will find some wonderful projects and blog candy along the way.
I made this treat cup using the Cupcake Wrappers Cricut Lite cartridge. I chose the "Bird"and cut out the layer without the shadow feature. It was set to fit as large as possible on the 12x12 mat. For illustration purposes, I filled it with color in order for you too see it better.
I used the Cricut Imagine and flood filled it with the pink zebra stripe patterned paper on the Blast Off Cricut Imagine cartridge. You do this by clicking on the image on the screen and the following box will pop up:
Tap on the pencil on the upper left of the box that popped up. It will then take you to the following screen.
You can then go through the options and pick the patterned paper of your chose to fill in the image. Or you can click on the left where it looks like a rainbow and enter in the rgb codes or select from the color wheel. For this project, I chose to do the pink zebra print.
This is a picture of the mat in the Imagine as it is printing then cutting.
I also out the topper for the "Scallop"and flood filling it with coordinating patterned paper from the Blast Off Cricut Imagine cartridge. I just followed the above example choosing another patterned paper.
Here is the side view showing the bird.
I used the setiment stamp from SU Tag Time with a heart and the words "Be Mine" with some of course dark pink ink. I layered the two scallop cuts with dimensionals centered under the fleur de lis.
Inside, I placed the yummy homemade pink sticky goodness of modified muddy buddies. Notice the Door County Sour Cherries and the shimmer of the red sugar to give it that last touch of goodness! These sure are addictive!
Now, on to the blog candy! Please become a follower of this blog and leave a comment on this thread.
I will be drawing one lucky blog follower to win a copy of the Provocraft Cricut cartridge Nursery Rhymes!
In case this is your first stop, please be sure to check out all the other wonderful projects and blog candy. Here is the blog list:

Favor of your Heart!
Our challenge this week was to create something for a Valentine’s Party. I decided to make a Vase of Heart Flowers for a table decoration that can be handed out at the end of the Party as Party Favors. I don’t have a Cricut Cartridge like Simply Sweet or anything with hearts, or I would have made this project with Cricut Cartridges vs. Punches.
Heart Party Favors:
Supplies:
Self-Adhesive Post-It paper in White, Cheeky, and Bashful
Martha Stewart 4X6 Holidays Mat Pad of Heart Card Stock Sheets
Hot Pink Bazzill Edge Strip
Cuddlebug and Tiny Heart Folder
Creative Memories Double Heart Punch
Marvy 2X2 ½ inch Scalloped Heart Punch
Stamp with 4 different Heart Candy Sayings
Pop Dots
Glue Stick and Glue Dots
Pipe Cleaners
Glass Vase (Dollar Store)
Hot Pink Stamp Pad
Recipe:
Line the Glass Vase with White Paper to hide the Pipe Cleaners.
Glue the Bazzill Edge Strip around the top of the Vase.
Cut 18 scalloped hearts from the Martha Stewart Pad using the Marvy Scallop Punch.
Using the same punch, Cut six from hearts from each of the three Post-It paper colors. (White, Cheeky, and Bashful)
Cut 18 hearts from the Martha Stewart Pad, using the large heart on the Creative Memories Double Heart Punch.
Ink one of the candies on the stamp and stamp it onto the Creative Memories (CM) punched out heart. Stamp different sayings for several of the CM hearts you punched. The stamp has Hug Me, Love You, I’m Yours, and Be Mine. (I got it this past week at Michael’s for $1)
Pop Dot the CM hearts onto the middle of the 18 Card Stock Scalloped Hearts.
Run all 18 of the Post-It Paper Scalloped Hearts through the Tiny Heart Cuddlebug Folder.
Adhere the Pipe Cleaner to the back side of each of the 18 Card Stock Scalloped Hearts with a large glue dot.
Adhere one of the Post-It Scalloped Embossed Hearts to the Card Stock Scalloped Heart with the Pipe Cleaner glued inside. Adhere insides together with nice sides facing out. Use glue pen towards bottom and around Pipe Cleaner to make sure they stay together. Do this step for all 18 hearts.
Make little bows and either tie them around the Pipe Cleaners or use a small glue dot to glue them to the front of each scalloped hearts a little ways down on the pipe cleaner.
Arrange the Hearts in the Vase like Flowers and display on your Table at the Party.
When the Party is over, hand them out as Party Favors.

Set the Flamingos Free!
This is a parody about the -20 degree temps which actually coincidentally we have today.
I sure am needing that cricut cruise today! In contrast, it is 81 degrees in San Juan and Grand Turk! OOOH I could use some warmth to defrost.
