Here is my first entry into the cricut expression 2 anniversary edition contest.
I printed the cricut bug using my imagine and storefront cricut cartridge. It was also used for the photo mat.
I also sewed the ribbon to the paper and then folded it to sew again.
I used a zig zag stitch to sew the paper strips to the base.
I picked this cosmo cricket line as it had a nostalgic feel and computer circuitry. The inside of the cartridges and cricut machine has circuit boards as well.
I sewed around the sticker and if you look at the layout, I also adhered irock silver pieces to the circuit board.
I cut this from sweet treats along with the happy birthday title. I also stickled it. The sewing gives it added detail.
I used the irock to add a gem instead of a dotted I.
I then added the stickles to the birthday to bling it.
Here is the back of the layout. Look at all the sewing.
The photo mats were each sewn twice.
Then, finally sewn to the back of the layout to give added strength for the tag in the pocket.
There is a tag behind the cricut machine and the cricut bug head is a tag!
The other side has some room for journaling.
Did you notice all the sewing on the front and back of the tags as well?
Here is the cricut head tag that tucks behind the photo mat.
When you take the tag out and open it, there is the original bug and the current new logo.
On the back when you flip the tag, there is more journaling room.
Again, I used the irock and some divine twine from through the button.
Everything was sewn and inked.
Of course more ribbon was added and a cute charm. I thought to add my circle charm but, as these layouts aren't returned, I didn't want to lose my charm.
But, the circle pin and charm would go great!
and of course some coordinating flowers to give it an added finished touch.
You too can make this layout with cricut imagine, storefront, sweet treats, and everday cricut.
