Jumping!

Good Morning!

This is Jen from 3 Cats and a Bug.  This week here at SSD's our theme is a one worded title.  For those who have been to my blog know, almost everything I scrap lately is about my Grandson.  Next to my kids, he is the most adorable baby, but of course I'm a tad bit biased.  :)

For my layout today I have a sketch from Sketch Savvy, two cute pictures of my Grandson in his Jumper having a great time and some paper I've been saving, from DCWV, Nana's Kids.

When I use sketches I like to figure out my sizes of everything, after picking out my pictures of course.

Then I like to figure out my back ground paper.   I love the bright colors in this paper pack!

Next I figure out all the rest of the pieces and cut them all out.

I cut my title out using the Cricut cartridge Carousal at 1.5.  I laid them out on my Gypsy so I could cut both layers at the same time.

All that, all that's left is putting everything together and adding the finishing touches.  I used stickles on the circle and on the arrows and a white gel pen on the blue and red shapes.  I have a box of left over pieces from past projects and from there I found the circles and the squiggly arrows.  I believe they are from Accent Essentials, but don't quote me on that one!  :)

Thanks for visiting SweetSassyDiva's; today!  Be sure to stop in again and see what the rest of our talented Design Team comes up with!

It's beginning to look a lot like Winter!

Hello my fellow crafty friends! So have you started? Have you started to think about Christmas? I am! I have my Christmas music playing right now and a few days ago I managed to get my Christmas lights up with the help of my son. Last week we got a nice little covering of snow but then a few days later the winds kicked up and blew it all away! Its been sticking in the low 20's to high teens durring the day. I am doing my snow dance every day lol! I dont know if its more of a dance or something like convulsions HA HAHA AHA! As you may know every year we try and make it up to North Pole to take the kids to see Santa. I try and start my cards early so I can have them done in time to mail out from there so they get the North Pole post mark. One year I was seriously sitting in the truck on the way up try to glue buttons on them. Thats when I said never again, I will get them done BEFORE. So I guess your thinking I am going to show you my Christmas card I made for this year.....and what I have to say to that my friends is THINK AGAIN! Its my little game I like to play called 'keep the card secret'. No one gets to see 'the card' ahead of time. I like to think that people are excited to see what I create every year (and actually some of my friends are!). I even have friends that try and trick me into giving up detals of what it looks like. So for this project I had to pull a card out of my butt or the air whatever...but it is not 'the card' I will be sending out this year he he he! I will post that after I send them out. This card is one that I saw on one of my Facebook pages but was done with fall colors and done a little bit differently. I of course took the idea and made it my own!

Laid it all out on my Gypsy....1 inch circles

Got all my shades of blue paper ready to cut

Got a bunch of blue balls I mean blue circles....

Ran them through my Sizzix Texture Botique

Laid them out on my card and started to glue

Added a 2 layer strip across the top

Cut out the white card you couls see along the bottom and sides

Made my rosette

Finished product!

Fairy Princess!

This week at sweetsassydiva we were challenged with a Disney theme. I happened to also be having a little girl's birthday this week. So I combined them and made a "fairy princess" banner, which is what was requested. I did not use any Disney cartridges for this, however the princess part can be tailored to fit any Disney Princess, according to color, and such.
So here we go....
I started with pastel cardstock for the crown's....I laid it out on my gypsy...this is one project that took a lot of layers on it.
I used the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge for the majority of my cuts. After cutting out the crowns (shift lock, font) I used scraps of different colored paper on the back to "color in" the openings...I then glittered the letters with a clear glitter to add some shine, and then decorated the crown with a bit of glitter for the gems. (If time would have allowed I would have cut the gem figure out which is also on the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge)
The fairies were cut in different colors, and their flags wave in different directions so that they can carry the banner for me.
I didn't want to do the same ribbon tie up banner that I usually do, I wanted something a bit different. I decided since it was fairies, and they live in the trees, that leaves and vines would be better. I used my gypsy and welded some vines together that were on the Calligraphy Cartridge. I used some flowers from Accent Essentials, and butterflies from Once Upon a Princess.
Then I could put the girls to work carrying the banner....the finished banner turned out really cute.

Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!  I am honored to be a part of the hop that is co-hosted with Shawn and Melissa.  If you arrived here first, be sure to stop by Shawn http://craftychicsblog.blogspot.com/ to see the whole hop.  I hope that you find inspiration along the way.

If you arrived here from Kim http://uscrap2.blogspot.com/ then, you are in the right spot.

I decided to work on a two page layout to add some disney pictures later.  Below is a picture of it before I glued it all down.  I love to use my scrap'n easel to work on my cards and layouts before I glue it all down.  It makes the process easier.  In fact, she is having a sale on them now and you can see more on her site just Click here!

It all began with a mouse but, I find that I like to begin my layout on the gypsy.

I used Mickey and Friends, Mickey Font, Accent Essentials and Cursive 101.

I used the cutterpede to cut a red and yellow border.

I positioned mickey between the two pages cutting him just to the left of his eyes.

Here is the left page:

And the right page:

I cut some additional Mickey gloves to hold the photo mat.

I used the gypsy and welded the shadow layer and font for the title.

The irock added some bling to the title.

For the "Mouse" title, I used Mickey Font.

I used a few different papers on this layout including EK success Disney Mickey paper pad, Sandylion Mickey Characters and Creative Imaginations magic.  Oh and of course a number of solid cardstock in coordinating colors.
What is your favorite disney title for a layout?  I have a few on my list but, I would love to hear your ideas.

Please continue on your magical journey to Jenny http://jennyplace26.blogspot.com/ next.  If you get lost, along the way, you can find a complete list on Shawn's site.

Fall Treat Pillow Box!

Happy Fall Yall! Tina from tiggersscrapplace, here again with a fall gift box. Fall is definitely in the air here. We've had some really nice crisp, cool days. Of course summer is not over yet because warm weather is supposed to return this week. I made some pillow boxes for a CTMH gathering I held last week and they turned out soo cute I decided to do a fall one. These are the perfect size for a small gift or some candy corn and peanuts to fit inside. Yum, my favorite fall treat!

Details:
pillow box - Wrap it Up cartridge 6", inked with chestnut roan chalk ink
I used my gypsy and the hide contour button to hide the detail cut out of the center of the box so I could have a plain box.
pumpkin - Thanksgiving cart 2",added some stickles for some bling
leaves - Thanksgiving cart 2", cut from ivory CS and then I inked with green, orange, and yellow chalk inks.
scroll - Accent Essentials cart 2", cut from chipboard and inked green

I hope you enjoyed my little gift box today and make some yourself to give as gifts. Be sure to check back all week for more fall items from the design team and I'd love for you to visit me at my blog for more great projects as well.

Grandma's Photo Frame!

Hugs to everyone this glorious day! This is Jearise who lives in Lorby's World; a world of creation and crafting. I am honored to be guest designer here today on SweetSassyDiva and hope you enjoy my picture frame made from fond memories of my grandmother.

Grandparents day is celebrated September 11 of 2011 and I created something special for this special holiday.

I love mini-picture frames and making the fancy mats that go in them so I decided to work with this. I thought back to my grandmother and how she meant so much to me and was such a colorful person and that's when everything fell into place.

I used a 4 x 6 inch frame and cardstock from two different pads: DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack and s.e.i's Mimosa's stack. The neon green that I used for the shadowing of the flourish and the word "Grandma" is plain cardstock from Recollections.

I used my wonderful Gypsy for all my pieces. The word "Grandma" and it's shadow come from Gypsy Font. I did the shadow first and KE'd it at -12 and then went back and took the shadow effect off and didn't KE it.

I've found that using a tweezers and quick dry glue are the way to go when putting the letters on the shadow.
I used Accent Essentials for my flourish and mat. The mat will hold a 2 x 3 inch photo leaving a nice little frame.

The inches are wrong for the mat in the picture. I had to unlink them and set the width at 3.50 inches and the height at 2.50 inches.
The flourish and it's shadow were done at 1.50 inches for height and I kept the measurements linked.

The stamp "You're simply the Best!" comes from Inkadinkado's Kathy Davis designs #97608 and I used the olive green ink from ColorBox Petal Point Classic Pigment inkpad #08013 - Provence. I inked the mat, and shadows for Grandma and the flourish. I finally used a la mode clear embossing powder on my words.
