Sweet on Organizing!

Hello my crafty friends, Brenda here.  At Sweet Sassy Diva we were given the challenge of organizing with our Cricuts.  Well I'm not sure if you would call this organizing, but I did label some things. When all my guys were home I baked everynight almost so I kept old 5 gallon tubs that had mayonnaise in them for my flour and sugar because I went through so much of it.  I would buy 25 lbs of flour and of sugar constantly.  Well recently I was able to down size and only buy 10 lbs of each at a time.  Finally I could get rid of those huge tubs in my pantry.  So I went to Wal-Mart and got me some of the big glass jars and set off labeling with my Cricut.  I used From My Kitchen Cricut and Street Signs cart and my trusty Gypsy girl to do just that.  There was already a "flour" on there but not a "sugar" label.  So I had to make my own on that one.  I took two ovals and nestled into each other then I took my letters from Street Signs and placed into my center oval.  Welded my letters together once I had them the way I wanted them.

Then after I had it all the way I thought I wanted it I checked it out with the "eye" feature on my Gypsy to see how it would cut out. Looking good so far.

Here is what the flour and the beverages one look like that was already on the FMK cart and I only had to size them and cut them out.

Here is what the flour and sugar look like on my glass containers.  I didn't cut the "beverages" one because I wasn't sure if I wanted that one or not and I still haven't decided. lol

This is much better than the big 5 gallon buckets don't you think? lol  But when you are cooking and baking for 8 people you need big containers like that.  I still bake a few times a week, but can manage with smaller jars of flour and sugar. lol  I hope you can find something to label or organize with your Cricut.  Until next time my crafty friends...Happy Crafting!

Organizing Extras!

I just love when I can combine my crafting and organizing into one project. I have been accumulating a lot of extra Cricut cuts and putting them in a boring old envelope. So when Crafty Organizing was chosen for the theme this week at SweetSassyDiva , I decided to make something fun, useful and decorative to store them in.

I started by making the inside pocket pages using a piece of 12 x 12 " paper. Score and fold as shown on the photos.

I used my Bind It All to put this book together.

The cover is just a light weight chipboard covered with black card stock.

I used Cricut Craft Room to size and cut out the image and phrase -  from Cricut Everyday sized at 3".

I wanted to be able sort the cuts by theme, so I cut out tabs from From My Kitchen to attach to each page.

I wrote on the labels then attached with a strong adhesive.

And the finished book... with a few embellishments.

This was a fun project make and can be changed up in lots of ways to fit other needs. Please come back this week and see some more great crafty organizing projects!

Peaches and Cream!

Tina Gale here from tiggersscrapplace.blogspot.com with another Disney layout. If you hop over to my blog you'll find lots of Disney layouts. Our challenge was travel and where better to travel than Disney! LOL

This is a great little ice cream and burger joint on the Boardwalk. The ice cream is fabulous. My kids had root beer floats and then helped their Daddy finish his hot fudge sundae!

The ice cream sundae was cut with From My Kitchen cart. I used the swirl and dot embossing folders to give it some added dimension. I think it looks yummy enough to eat don't you.

I used the Mickey Font cart for the title and then embossed it with the swiss dot embossing folder.

Supplies:
DCWV paper
From My Kitchen cart
Mickey Font cart
Swiss dot embossing folder
Divine Swirl embossing folder

Cookies!

Some Things I Used
  • Cricut
    Imagine Cartridge Imagine More
  • Cricut
    Cartridge From the Kitchen
  • Chalks
  • Sewing
    Machine
  • Sandpaper
 I used
patterned cardstock I bought at Joann Fabrics and sanded and chalked the
edges.
I used the Cricut to print and
cut the eggs, "stir", timer and title.  I used a typewriter to tell the
story.  I used my sewing machine to decorate the edges and left a little of
the thread hanging.  I like to do that because it makes the page feel
humble to me.
