Jumping!

Good Morning!

This is Jen from 3 Cats and a Bug.  This week here at SSD's our theme is a one worded title.  For those who have been to my blog know, almost everything I scrap lately is about my Grandson.  Next to my kids, he is the most adorable baby, but of course I'm a tad bit biased.  :)

For my layout today I have a sketch from Sketch Savvy, two cute pictures of my Grandson in his Jumper having a great time and some paper I've been saving, from DCWV, Nana's Kids.

When I use sketches I like to figure out my sizes of everything, after picking out my pictures of course.

Then I like to figure out my back ground paper.   I love the bright colors in this paper pack!

Next I figure out all the rest of the pieces and cut them all out.

I cut my title out using the Cricut cartridge Carousal at 1.5.  I laid them out on my Gypsy so I could cut both layers at the same time.

All that, all that's left is putting everything together and adding the finishing touches.  I used stickles on the circle and on the arrows and a white gel pen on the blue and red shapes.  I have a box of left over pieces from past projects and from there I found the circles and the squiggly arrows.  I believe they are from Accent Essentials, but don't quote me on that one!  :)

Thanks for visiting SweetSassyDiva's; today!  Be sure to stop in again and see what the rest of our talented Design Team comes up with!

All about Dad's!

Good Morning!

This is Jen from 3 Cats and a Bug.  This week at Sweetsassydiva's; the theme is All about Dad's!  I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team comes up with, they are so creative!

I decided to make cards for my project.  I have 3 cards that I need to make for my family, including one I made for my Grandson to give to my Son.  I also made some extra's for a friend who asks for cards to sell.  I made two cards that just used stickers for my Husband and Dad, I will add "Happy Father's Day" to the bottom of the cards and give the cards to them while we are out fishing.

I made two different versions of the same cut in different sizes and added a banner to one of them.  I cut one at 4 and the other at 3 from Celebrate With Flourish.  The banner was cut from Carousel at 3.7.  I used pop dots to attach the banner and added some stitching with my white gel pen.  I also used my white gel pen on the lettering.  On some of the cards I added Glossy Accents to the number 1 to make it pop more.  I don't think it added much to it, which is why I didn't add it to all of them.

I made another card using Everyday Pop-Up Cards.  The beer mug was cut at 4 and Cheers! was cut at 1.  I ran the outside of the mug and the "foam" through my big kick with embossing folders.

I'm always happy when I can use up some of my scraps!  (I have 6 drawers full of scrap paper!)  I went through and picked out all my blue scraps of patterned paper and added them to the insides of all the cards and then my computer generated verse on top.

To make it easier on the eyes, the inside verse says:

A Place Just For Dad
We many not shower him with praise
Nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget
The joy he spreads as he goes along,
But it doesn't mean that we don't know
The wonderful role that he has had.
And away down deep in every heart
There's a place that is just for Dad...

Thanks for looking!

Hang in There!

Hi ~ Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway with a Circus project for SweetSassyDiva's Mix-It-Up theme this week.  I have a good friend who is having a tough time right now and this card will be perfect to send to her.  The message is to "Hang in There" and I hope she does!!
I love making window cards.  I started out with this card shape from Fabulous Finds.  I put one on my Gypsy at 4.31w x 5.00h and made a second copy.  I found the trapeze artist from Carousel and put her and the layer on my mat at 3.04w x 4.01h (the shadow layer).  I added a second image so I could make a layer for the swing.
I used Hide Contour to hide the inner cut of one of the card sides.  I welded the card sides together, then welded the shadow of the trapeze artist inside the window.
I opened a new layer and copied the trapeze artists on and cut them out.
I was able to scoot the card over to the right and use this scrap (minus superman) to cut out my card.
Here is the card cut out.
Then I realized I needed another layer:  the swing, the girl, and the outfit.
I did go back and cut out one more girl in skin color after I realized I needed a solid girl, not the outfit cut outs!!  I snipped off the pieces I did not need and glued them together.  I used scraps for this entire card!!
I added some stickles to her hair, leotard and shoes.  I do not have many sentiment stamps, so I will hand write a message to my friend.
I am honored to be here at Sweet Sassy Diva's blog today!!

3 Ring Circus!

Hi there! Its Kim from Ricketts Cricuts! We had a Mix it up challenge over at SweetSassyDiva to come up with our own theme in our group! Our group chose Circus! I have been loving mini albums and found some really cute paper so I decided to make a Circus mini album for when Hubby and I go! I ran right out and found the Cricut Carousel Lite Cartridge and some Circus patterned paper from my local scrapbook store!
Here is the patterned paper I used to create the mini album!

I mounted most of the patterned embellishments on solid blue or green textured DCWV cardstock. I added white faux stitching for extra texture on the page. After making the album I think I will fill it with pictures after we go to our State Fair! I hope you like the album!

Dont forget to check back and see what the other SweetSassyDiva design team is making! If you want to see more of my craftiness check out my facebook page here
