Best Mama!

Hello crafty people!  This week for the Sweet Sassy Diva Design Team post are "All About Mom".  For my project I decided to make a card for one of my daughters.
A pretty quick and simple card so no tutorial this week.
I used Car Decals to give the card a little personal touch this  year.
The little girl was cut from page 53 at 3 inches and the pregnant mom is cut from page 47 at 3.5 inches.  I then added some ribbon, buttons, a MS flower punch, Stickles and googly eyes.
This is the inside cut from the Floral Embellished cart page 53 cut at 3.5 inches. This phrase was perfect as my granddaughter who is almost 18 months old calls her mom Mama.   I added a flower to the center and cut more flowers with my MS punch.   Floral Embellished is an awesome cart for phrases about Mom, grandmas, etc.
Here is a picture of my oldest daughter Danielle with her daughter Kenzie.  Aren't they just two peas in a pod?  Danielle is expecting her second child in October so we are quite excited.
Hope you will stop by all week to see what the DT members have in store for you.  I am wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day.  Big crafty hugs- Suzanne

Happy Mother's Day!

Good Morning everyone!

Word books have become my favorite things to make! I realized the other day that I've made one for everyone EXCEPT my Mom. IF my Mom had realized this, I would be in big trouble. LOL It doesn't matter how old I am, in my Mom's eyes I'm still the "baby". Honestly, my Mom is awesome, so using my new Florals Embellished cartridge was perfect for this project. I picked the sayings out first, so it would describe my Mom when the book was closed.  I welded the words using my gypsy and cut out on my cricut expression.

The book measures 4.75 X 8.25. The 1st page is 4.75 X 4.75. The words were cut @ 1.5. I used a white gel pen to do the lettering and added some glossy accents. I picked up the green leaves at J's and the flower was from my stash.

With all my heart was cut @ 1.75 and the base piece was cut @ 4.75 X 5.5. The heart was cut out of red glitter paper and topped with glossy accents.

My Mother my friend was cut @ 1.25 and the base at 4.75 X 7.25.

You're the best was cut @ 2.5 and the base at 4.75 X 7. I used a white gel pen and a purple pen on the lettering, along with stickles and a viva decor violet pearl pen.

Happy Mother's Day was cut @ 2.5 and the base piece at 4.75 X 8.25. The butterflies and toad were cut from Nursery Tails and topped with glossy accents. I took some lace and hot glued it around the backside of the last page. All the paper used was K&Company and I stuck with the floral theme. I put it together using 3/4 in wires with my cinch. TFL!

Florals Embellished Card!

Good Morning!

This is Jen from 3 cats and a bug.
SSD asked her DT to make something with a rosette flower, a tag and the colors green, blue and pink. While I'm not a member of her very talented DT, sometimes I play along.

(Examples are in blue, sorry I didn't take pictures while making the green and white flower! The written dimensions are what I used for the green and white flower.)
I cut a 1 x 12 inch strip of green and white paper and scored every 1/2 inch.

I folded it accordion style.

When I opened it up, I used red tape and put the two ends together. I made sure I had a hill on one side and a valley on the other. That way when I put them together no seam showed.

From this shape you push in the top until it lays flat. (For those who haven't made any of these, you'll understand once you start to do it. I can't explain it very well lol)

Lastly, I hot glued a 1 inch circle to the top and bottom to hold it together.

And the actual flower I made for this card.

I took a pink button and tied on bow of pink twine.

I hot glued that to the top of the flower. I then took some organdy ribbon and created three loops and attached it to the back. (I stapled the loops together since no one will see the backside.) I then took 3 pieces of different colored ribbon, folded them over and attached them to the backside also.

I used the Florals Embellished cartridge (page 58) and cut 4 "leaves" @ 2.25 in blue, 2.0 in pink, 1.75 in green and 1.5 in white. I cut 1 piece of patterned paper 4 x 5.25 and 1 piece of solid blue paper at just under 4.24 x 5.5. I attached it all to A2 size pink card stock.

I'm not sure if I should thank Bobbi Jo for inspiring me to think outside my comfort zone or not. LOL I've made several of these flowers now and my fingers are starting to cramp!!

Honestly, thanks Bobbi Jo, I'm glad you asked me to make these, they've been a lot of fun! I'm certain my Mother in Law is going to love this card!
