Mortar Board!

This week at Sweet Sassy Diva its all about "Graduation".  In a way, its also a graduation for me as I complete a year as part of the Sweet Sassy Diva Design Team.  One year ago Bobbi Jo gave me the opportunity to be on my first Design Team and I have learned so much and had a great time this past year.  However,  I have decided to step down at this time to design on other teams.  Thank you Bobbi Jo and all my design team buddies for inspiring me this past year.   I hope you will continue to follow me and keep in touch on my blog cricutcraftingrammyblogspot.com.
So for my graduation project I made a neighbor for a family friend that is graduating from High School in June.  Since my girls and I all went to the same school I decided to use the school colors.  The mascot of the school is a Bulldog so I selected this great ribbon I had in my stash.
Here is the front of the card.

Here is the inside.  I covered over the top and bottom 1/2 with dotted black and white paper.  This covers the pieces you taped in place.
The graduation cap is the card cut from Wrap it Up page 67 cut at 5.75 width.
I covered the tassel with some white crinkly paper on the back side of the card.
I then cut out 1/2 inch strips of this foil paper from Recollections.
I taped the strips together 9 in total and then adjusted until I liked how it looked and taped it down over the cutout of the cap.
Here is how it came out.
Next I doodled around the edge of the card and added the center button piece.
I then made a tassel out of white crochet thread ti give the card more dimension.
For the inside the Happy Graduation was cut at 1.5 inches from MS Seasonal Cart.
The pocket for the gift card was cut from Tags, Bags, and More page 112 at 9 inches.
Thanks for stopping by and please come back and check out what the other designers have in store for "Graduation."
Happy Craftin.

Using Reverse Cuts!

Hello!  Michele here from http://www.michelegreen.com/.  I'm excited to be sharing with you on SweetSassyDiva today!  The challenge is to create either a layout with hidden journaling or a card with a hidden sentiment.  I took this as the perfect reason to get some scrapping done!  I know, this is a Halloween layout in the middle of all the Valentine posts you are seeing around but it's where I'm at in my latest scrapbook.  I also believe that people who scrapbook in chronological order like myself, are not always scrapping along with the current seasons or holidays.

Today I am sharing with you a  double 12x12 layout that I made:

Awhile back I made 3.5" squares of the patterns available on the Cricut Imagine carts I own.  This created a bunch of papers that have 9 holes in them.  I kept them to try a layout just like this.  I love the way it turned out!

Since these are just white pages, I inked the papers with black ink, then orange.  I then went back and added more black to the corners and places where the rows crossed.

Once I had that done, I arranged my photos and cut them to be just under 4" square.  This way I could adhere them to the back of the grid.

Next up was cutting the Cricut pieces I wanted.  I used the Wrap It Up cart - tag feature.  The bat and spider tag on this page were cut at 2".

Eeek is a Studio G stamp, while Boo came from this baby stamp set.  I didn't have any other Halloween saying small enough so I decided to use a Fantastix to ink just the Boo in Booty and use that!

For the right side of the layout, the title phrase was cut at 3", as was the witch tag.  I used orange Stickles on the pumpkin to make it shine. All of the tags have Trendy Twine tied on them. The purple paper is from a Recollections Halloween stack from this past year.

The journaling block was created by creating a card of sorts. I used the Martha Stewart Goo punch to create a fun edge.  The orange card is glued into the last grid space.

I always practice my journaling to make sure it is going to fit before I put it on the layout.  Here, I had a failed attempt at the insert so I used that to practice.

A funny thing about me is that I always write bigger while practicing than I do on the actual page so I knew my writing would fit just fine.  It was close but it worked!

I hope you enjoyed the layout I shared with you today.  Thank you SweetSassyDiva for having me!

Fall Treat Pillow Box!

Happy Fall Yall! Tina from tiggersscrapplace, here again with a fall gift box. Fall is definitely in the air here. We've had some really nice crisp, cool days. Of course summer is not over yet because warm weather is supposed to return this week. I made some pillow boxes for a CTMH gathering I held last week and they turned out soo cute I decided to do a fall one. These are the perfect size for a small gift or some candy corn and peanuts to fit inside. Yum, my favorite fall treat!

Details:
pillow box - Wrap it Up cartridge 6", inked with chestnut roan chalk ink
I used my gypsy and the hide contour button to hide the detail cut out of the center of the box so I could have a plain box.
pumpkin - Thanksgiving cart 2",added some stickles for some bling
leaves - Thanksgiving cart 2", cut from ivory CS and then I inked with green, orange, and yellow chalk inks.
scroll - Accent Essentials cart 2", cut from chipboard and inked green

I hope you enjoyed my little gift box today and make some yourself to give as gifts. Be sure to check back all week for more fall items from the design team and I'd love for you to visit me at my blog for more great projects as well.

#1 Dad Gift Bag!

Good Morning, I'm so glad you decided to stop by, since Father's Day is just around the corner I wanted to share a simple and fast project I did.  Father's day is a very special day for me, not only because I have been blessed with a Wonderful Father, but because my children get to show their father, just how Special he is.  I also want to take this time to let my Father know that I love and appreciate him so very much.
So for my project I decide to make a Gift bag and a matching tag.  This was super easy to make and I really love how it ll came together.  So I hope you will enjoy it.
The card for this project was cut at 5.5 height and 5.32 width.  The tie was cut at 1.06 width and 5.00 height.
The Phrase was cut at 5.49 width and 2.00 height, then I just link the tie stripes to the phrase.
All the cuts came from the Wrap It Up Cartridge.  I have included some pictures with the measurements for your convenience.  the paper used was some old paper I found in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby.  I purchased a plain gift Kraft bag and then just added the paper and the cuts.  I made a small tag to go alone with the bag.  Then just used some decorative tissue paper and this Gift Bag is ready to go.  I hope you enjoy this project and that you have a Wonderful Father's Day.  Thank you so very much for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the other Design Teams blog and check out all of the Great projects they have made.
HUGS,
Martha

Wrap up these favors!

Hey everyone! Kristin from The Crafty Kitchen here. This week at SSD our challenge was to create something for a Valentines Day Party. I love to make a little something for my friends every year around Valentines, and this year I've decided to do chocolate covered Oreos. I wanted to make a cute box and tag to package the cookies in, and the boxes on Wrap It Up are just too cute not to use. I used the blank box on the cartridge, and then used my new Valentines Day Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page called Ruffled Heart to punch a window on every side. These punches are so easy to use and make a perfect window!

The tag is also from Wrap It Up, and I used clear Stickles on the flower. The "To" and "From" stamps are from Pink By Designs Christmas Wishes Stamp Set.
