Summer Fun!

Hi Everyone,
It's Becka with Creations With Becka here. This week for the Sweet Sassy Diva DT challenge we were asked to make a project with a kite. I am also getting ready for my circle meet up on June 3rd. We are making scrapbook pages for Crops of Luv. So I thought I would make this summer fun layout for the challenge and have something to donate at the meet-up too.
I used the Imagine and Best Friends cartridge. I printed out the cardstock on two white pages of cardstock. I printed out the kite at fit to page and the two girls are at 3.8".  Summer Fun is from the Elmo's Party cartridge. Please go to my blog and check out my Mondays post HERE. I entered KarelJ's May challenge and would love for you to check out my project and vote for me over at One By One Flamingos are Stealing my Insanity.

What I Love About You!

Welcome to the What it means to love you Blog hop!  If you arrived here first, be sure to start at the beginning by Clicking here!  If you arrived from lifesgr8whnbugged, then you are in the right place!  Welcome!

What it means to love you?  Well, for my darling husband and myself, it is that we married our BFF.  He also, scrapped with me on the Cricut Cruise that I earned and celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary.  I tell you that sure says love to scrap with your wife!  Ok he isn't looking to take it up anytime soon and did decline taking on a post weekly or even monthly.  We enjoy spending time together and really are inseparable!  He sure does lend a hand and when I ask him what he thinks about something or to pick an option, he is right there!  Love is holding on to each other and remembering the good times while working through the tough times.
Our son helped to make a card for the hop and is really enjoying the cuddlebug.  I am sure that our daughter will help when she's older.

Here is the card that we made about the 10 things I love about you!

We used the Cricut Imagine Best Friends Cartridge and selected the print and cut option.  We layered the 10 things I love about you! icon on page 15.  We used the bonus content on page 29 and changed the background to the yellow print on page 41.

Here are the layers printed and cut on the mat.

We took two coordinating 80# cardstock to create a card.  The pale yellow cardstock was cut to make a mat on top.
Here is my son with the cuddlebug.  He sure is excited to help out and run everything though it.

It came with a flower embossing folder.  He ran the yellow cardstock through the Cuttlebug.

We then, adhered all the layers and tied a cute ribbon I had in my stash that just looks like it was made for this folder.

Here is the card completed!  Now, for the fun part!  Writing all the reasons that I love him!  I think I might need to use the Yourstory and glue in some more pages!  Good it is the top 10 reasons!

Twinkle Toes!

Click Picture for blog hop and chance to win awesome prizes including cricut cartridges!

It is extended to Monday.  Be sure to enter for the drawing!
Hello Everyone, this week Bobbi Jo asked all of her DT divas to make something using a new/favorite cartridge. And my DH gave me Twinkle Toes for Christmas and I have been so excited to use it!

Recipe:
Twinkle Toes Cartridge
Best Friends Cartridge
White 12x12 card stock
8.5X11 cream colored card stock
Yellow ribbon
Peechy Keen Stamps (Princess Faces)
Stickles
Pop Dots

The curtain background was cut at 5.5 inches and the little girl was cut at 3 Inches. I used colors and patterns from the Best Friends cart.

Since I don't have a G and was unable to "hide contours" in her face I printed and cut a second body image in the same color I used for her skin. Then used an xacto knife to cut out her face shape.
With no cuts or contours I was able to stamp her face using a set of "princess faces" by Peechy Keen.
Then I assembled the curtain layers, I used pop dots on the top valence to well make it POP!

In the layers for this background there are strips for the curtain tie backs, but after I put it all together I went back added small yellow ribbon. I also glued the background to a 5x7 cream colored card.

I then added my girl to the card and some Stickles for a little added detail.

Hope you all enjoy my finished card, I really love this cart and already have quite a few ideas for some other projects!

To do...Tada!!!

Hello all!!  This is Carissa!  This week at SweetSassyDiva we are making something recycled, repurposed or a project made with a new item received for Christmas...  My project is a 6 most important things to do list that will be kept on a clipboard.  One of my goals this year is to balance my time more!!  I've started planning our meals again, keeping a list of cleaning chores to do everyday and now this list will help keep me on track even more!  Everything will be on this clipboard!!  Every night before bed I will put the six things that are at the top of the list that must get done the following day.  After they are completed then I will turn the tag over.
My new item received for Christmas is the Fabulous Finds Cricut Cartridge!!  I wish I could say that I used the flood fill feature on my Imagine to make this project but I'm not updated yet with the most recent update.  I used four sheets of white cardstock and a small scrap of another white cardstock.  Sweet!!
Recipe:
Fabulous Finds Cricut Cartridge
Best Friends Imagine Art Cartridge
White Cardstock
Scoring tool
Crop-a-Dile or Eyelet setter
Eyelets
Ribbon
Adhesive
Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink
Gypsy - Optional
(I used the Gypsy because my Imagine is not updated yet)

The red and yellow sheets are double sided!  The image from the Fabulous Finds cartridge needed a front and back...
For the four sheets of white cardstock I used the Print Paper feature with the Best Friends Art Cartridge.  I love the clouds!!  So dreamy!!!

This image is found on page 211 on the Fabulous Finds Cricut Cartridge.  I cut six of the at 3 inches.
I cut three at a time so I have a couple of nice scraps from this paper!
Here they are ready to get scored on my Martha Stewart scoreboard!
I wanted to make it a little flatter so I folded the flaps around the back.  It will be hidden anyway!!
I cut the inserts from the printed blue cardstock at 2 1/4 x 3 3/4.  Rounded the top two corners to match the pocket.  Then used my Crop-a-Dile to punch a hole and add an eyelet for the ribbon.
I used lots of glue to make sure that my pocket will lay flat.  All sides and one strip down the center.
I printed a couple of images at the end to complete my project.  This is where the scraps of white cardstock were used.  The flowers are cut at 0.8 and 1.0 inches.  The bird was cut at 0.7 inches.  I used the layer feature so I could delete the images that I didn't want to use.  Also, I used the true size feature for both.  The edges were inked with Chestnut Roan chalk ink.
Have a great week!!

Best Friends Cricut Imagine Mini

Hello all!!  This is Carissa!!  Stocking stuffers are so much fun!!  My daughter loves to draw so this was perfect for her!  I also got the chance to use my new YourStory Photo!!  I made little books with about 10-14 pages in them...
Recipe:
Cardstock from stash
White cardstock
Strips of YourStory glue
YourStory Photo
Cut the cardstock to 3 x 6 and score at 2 5/8, 2 7/8, 3 1/8 and 3 3/8.  Cut the strip of YourStory glue to 2 3/4 inches long and then I cut the strip in half lengthwise to make it skinnier.  For the inside pages make 2 3/4 inch squares and score at 1/4 to make it easier to turn the pages.  It really helps!!
I decorated the cover with an image from the Best Friends Cricut Imagine Art Cartridge.  Looks super cute!!
Have a great week!!!  Happy Holidays!!!

Best Friends Post-It Designer Handbag!

Recipe-

12x12 white card stock

White "Post It" craft paper

Best Friends Imagine Cartridge

Ribbon

Sticky Gems

I was so surprise and excited when a large package arrived at my home this week! Post-It had sent all of SweeSassyDiva's Design Team a starter kit for their new line of craft paper. My kids had been asking all day to do a fun project and the paper by 3M gave me a fun idea. The first thing I noticed was that the package of white craft paper can be printed on.

So, I found the 3-D image of a purse off the "Best Friends" cart and hit "fit to page" to get the largest possible purse.

Assembly:

Then I put the "post it" craft paper on my Imagine mat, I printed and cut different images from "best friends" to make my own stickers (I cut them at 2 inches, but I kinda wish I had made them a bit larger).

My girls were able to fold the purse together and loved decorating using ribbon, sticky gems and the post it "stickers" since they are re-positionable they could pick them move them where they pleased and I loved that I didn't have to bust out the messy glue ! So a big thank you to 3M, I cannot wait to keep using this new line of sticky paper!

Imagine Country Life!

There was going to be a video to go with this but, I was unable to get the video edited properly. I guess I will be asking Santa for year :)

Recipe

12x12 white card stock

Imagine Cartridge Best Friends

Country Life

White gel pen

Hot pink Stickles

Pop Dots

2 Way glue pen

This card was so easy and fun, I love mixing original and Imagine cartridges. The frame can be found on the Best Friends cartridge, I hit layers and cut it out @ 6.5. After cutting all the frame layers and glued them together I tapped it onto a 5x7 card and then used my xacto to cut around the edges. The piggy's and all their layers were cut @ 2.7 I used the color wheel on the I to pick the colors. The Phrase "this little piggy" was cut @ 1.5. I used stickles to color in the ribbons on the little Piggy's and used pop dots to add dimension and combine the images. I then added "stitching" with my white gel pen.

Fight!

Now for an Imagine Layout and Introducing.....

Summer!  I blog at Cricut Diaries with my best friend Jennifer. It was about a year ago that I was first introduced to the world of paper crafting, I have since become completely addicted. I stay at home with two little girls and I am a military wife. This hobby is perfect for our lifestyle, we move often and this really gives me a great way to meet new amazing people everywhere we go. I was so excited to find out that I am now a SweetSassyDiva Designer! Thanks so much to Bobbi Jo for this opportunity, I hope that everyone enjoys what I have to share.

Recipe:

Brown and cream card stock
Pink glitter paper (DCWV)
Best Friends Imagine Cartridge
Stand and Salute Cartridge
Rock Princess Cartridge
White ribbon (2 inches wide)
Pink Button Brads
White Gel Pen

Directions:

For this Layout I used my Imagine. I first printed out the shaped patterned paper using "best friends" and cut it at 10.5".  I then layered that on top of the brown and cream colored card stock. I added the white ribbon and made the bow by just tying a knot and trimming the edges. I also added the 2 pink "button" brads at the ends of the ribbon.

The stars and ribbons (stand and salute) were cut at 2.5 inches and filled in the color using patterns from "best friends".

The Heart font was cut from Rock Princess at 2 inches and again filled in with the same pattern from the "best friends" cartridge. I used a white gel pen to add faux-stitching on the layered brown card stock. Lastly I found some brown glittered chipboard swirl stickers in the dollar bin at target and added them around the photo. This photo is of my step-mom Debbie and my half sister. Debbie lost her battle with breast cancer 2 years ago this month.
