Sing!

This week, our theme at Sweet Sassy Diva's is One Word Title.  Lori here from Srappin'MyStressAway with a layout of my son's kindergarten music program.  They sang and danced to several songs.  It was so cute!!!

I started out by printing this musical note paper from Vintage Papers on my Cricut Imagine.

I had at least one head (from the parents in front of me) in every picture I took, so I trimmed the best one up a bit and cut four others to 2 x 2.5 inches.

I grabbed my Gypsy and Quarter Note and got to work.

I spelled out "SING" with the notes sized to 1.25 inches.  The piano is sized at 2.18 inches.  I moved the layers around so I could cut out each layer in a different color.

I had a little trouble with the blue paper.  It was a bit thinner than the black and red cardstock.  I re-cut it with thicker cardstock and had better luck.

I wanted to add something behind the notes, so I cut out these banner shapes from Beyond Birthdays sized to 2.25 inches.  I used the same blue cardstock.

I needed somewhere to journal, so I put a 3" music note on my mat.  I also wanted to add a few more musical symbols in black.  The treble clef and microphone are both sized to 1.88 inches, and the music notes are sized to 1.94 inches.

Tanner is in the top row, second from the right.

I pop-dotted the piano and journaling "note" to the page.

I added some tissue tape from Michaels behind my musical note letters and pop-dotted them down.  A little twine connected my banner flags together.

I added some twine to my photo booth row of photos.  I also tucked the microphone behind the photos, but layered the music notes on top.

I made some flags out of tissue tape.  The strip of photos is pop-dotted to the paper, so the tape is just tucked behind.

This was our music teacher's very last program as she retired at the end of the school year.  We are excited for her to begin her retirement and excited for our new music teacher as well!!

Thanks Bobbi Jo for having me over today!!

It's Your Day!

Hi all my crafty friends, Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  This week at Sweet Sassy Diva we were ask to make anything with fathers in mind.  So I made a Father's day card for my DS to give to his dad.  The other 5 boys will have to come up with their own card. lol  Ok first off I grabbed my Gypsy girl and over at She's a Sassy Lady, Sheila has a great video tutorial on how to make tri fold cards like on Just A Note that came pre-installed on the E2. Go over to Sheila's blog and watch the tutorial, it is 4 videos because she walks you through it step by step!!  So I made my base using George and Basic Shapes and then welded my die cuts that I wanted to use.  Here are what my card layout and layers look like on my Gypsy girl.

I proceeded to cut out my base and score it.  Here I had a little boo boo, but I am still going to use the card.  I didn't have it on the mat correctly and lost part of the end of the card.  Oh well, I wasn't going to trash it, but just make the best out of it.  Here is what it looks like.

Next I cut all my layers out and assembled them.  Then attached them to my card base.  Here is the beer mug with the foam.  I used Smiley Cards for this die.  I wanted a little dimension to the foam so I used liquid pearls on the foam and for the "sweat" on the mug I used glossy accents. This is the side of my card that is messed up.  I should have a rounded edge on the left side but I don't.  But like I said I am making it work anyway. DH won't even notice.

I cut It's Your Day from Wild Cards and Dad came from Beyond Birthdays.

The banner came from Just A Note that is on the E2 machine. My stamped sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.  The twine is from The Twinery and my base papers came from DCWV The Guy stack.

Well I hope you liked my card and will be inspired to make the man in your life a sweet card!

Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend!

Hi all my crafty friends, Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  This week at Sweet Sassy Diva we were ask to make a project using a diamond or diamond shape because that is the birthstone of April and of course we all know that diamonds are a girls best friend. lol  A little birdie told me that we will be having an engagement in the near future in my family!  So I made a window card just for the occasion. I used Beyond Birthdays and Tie the Knot carts.  Sheila from She's a Sassy Lady has a wonderful tutorial on her blog on making these window cards. I started out designing my card on my Gypsy. I have figured that while I am making one card, I might as well make a second card as well. So I have two cards on my mat. You will see only one finished card that fits in with our challenge.

I chose what mat stack I wanted to get my papers from for my card bases.  For my card that I am showing your I used the La Creme mat stack by DCWV.  I also used DCWV Glittered paper as well.

I cut and assembled all of my die cuts which were only a few.  I then attached them to my card.  Here is my finished card.  Cute and perfect for a congrats cards to the new happy couple!!

I am anxious to see what my design sisters have done with this challenge!  I am sure that we won't be disappointed!!  As always we want to thank you for joining us at Sweet Sassy Diva!  I hope you go away being inspired!!
