Blood stains remover

Yesterday, my sweet little girl came home with her brand new dress and leggings covered in blood from a nosebleed. She was so upset and scared when it happened plus, her new dress was covered. I have to admit I figured the outfit was a goner!

So, I remembered the white holiday skirt and began to think how to treat it. You can see that post here: http://sweetsassydiva-gspot.blogspot.com/2015/04/diy-spot-remover.html

I decided to use that method again on this vibrant outfit. I let it soak, while I collected clothes to do a load. Then, I grabbed the thieves laundry detergent and rubbed it on the spots. I laundered it on cold and viola!  I am amazed that the spots are gone! #happywinformom

DIY Spot Remover

We went out to celebrate last night as a family.  We went to the Olive Garden and My little girl wanted to wear her white ensemble.  You know because that makes sense!

Are you thinking what I was thinking? Oh no! Crazy to wear white on a little girl at a place that excels at red (spaghetti) sauce and sauces with lots of fat to stain clothes! So, ok she had her heart set on white. I get that and I had it covered. Really I did! I had her take her white jacket off and explained how to be careful to not get spaghetti sauce on herself. Napkin given and talk complete. Food comes and you know the shuffle with tons of distractions with the kids and husband? Yes, lots of that going on.

You know where this is going right? So, before I could get situated and help her, she grabs the big ravioli to precede to shove it full on in her mouth. Nope! It didn't make it to her mouth as it flops of course red sauce side down! Planted not on the beautiful red flower but, yep you know it, right on a big spot of white!

So, I blot off as much of the sauce as I can at the restaurant. I'm sure this skirt has completed it's service because that isn't coming out!

After blotting:

Yes it was a big old stain and even getting it to look like this was fortunate!

So, we finished dinner and when we get home, it's time to work my magic.

I posted a while back about a laundry spot remover.

http://sweetsassydiva-gspot.blogspot.com/2014/12/diy-laundry-spot-remover.html?m=1

It helped in the past but, can it do anything for a garment that can be washed cold and really the label recommends dry cleaning. Well, I don't know about you but, dry cleaning? I think not esp on kid's clothing.

I grab my measuring spoons and mixing bowl with ingredients to begin the magic show! You know as this will be a true magical fear to salvage this one! I even thought of dying it all over with spaghetti sauce! Really, I didn't think this was going to happen.

I mixed up the ingredients, turned the skirt inside out and worked the liquid gently thru the stain. The thought is that by treating it reverse, it pushes the stain back out rather than deeper into the fabric. A few minutes later, it looked like this:

Ok it looks better but, still very visible. Deep breaths.

I put it into the laundry machine on a gentle cycle following the instructions on the garment label. I added a capful of thieves cleaner with woolite and said my peace.

I was flabbergasted! Is that a word? It took the stain out! It worked better than ever was my personal experience with any other pre-treatment stain remover product!

Check this out!

12 Days of Oils Thieves

If you have been following along, I am doing homemade gift ideas using the Young Living Essential Oils Premium Starter Kit. As you can tell from the graphic, today is day 3 THIEVES!

If you have looked on the back of a bottle of hand sanitizer, you will notice a huge long list of chemicals which most you cannot pronounce! Most are alcohol based and even the thieves brand from young living has denatured ethanol SD-38B (denatured with peppermint essential oil).

I decided to make a version of my own Thieves hand sanitizer.

DIY Recipe:
3 TBS aloe vera gel
2 TBS witch hazel
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil
4 TBS distilled water
8-10 drops thieves young living essential oil

I bought a glass pump container to put the thieves mixture in.

Step 1:

In a pourable container, mix together aloe vera gel & vitamin E oil and witch hazel. Stir as best you can.  Vitamin E oil is very thick.

Step 2:

Stir in water & thieves, mix well.

Step 3:

Pour mix into container. This container is 6 ounces.

We have a video that gives ideas on avoiding the sickies this season with essential oils and what to do, if the sickies strike!  I can add you to the group to view it.

I used a tag from graphic 45 twelve days of Christmas in chipboard 1. The baker's twine is from the twinery.

There is a complete line of thieves products from essential oils, cleaning products, hygiene such as dental care etc.

The hand sanitizer, thieves mints and spray make excellent stocking stuffers and stash great in your purse or suit coat for on the go!

DIY Laundry Spot Remover

DIY Laundry Spot Remover
• 1 Tbsp. Thieves Household Cleaner
• 1 Tbsp. lukewarm water
• ¼ tsp. baking soda
• 2 Tbsp. hydrogen peroxide
Combine Thieves Household Cleaner, water, and baking soda in a small bowl and mix until baking soda is dissolved. Add hydrogen peroxide. Pretreat stain (test on an inconspicuous area first!) by spraying the mixture directly onto stain with a spray bottle or by pouring directly onto stain. Let sit a few minutes, then rinse and wash normally. Discard excess stain remover after finished with laundry for the day—mixture doesn’t keep overnight.

The Thieves or ningxia Red premium starter kit is an additional option available.

Ornaments and Gift Tags!

This recipe is perfect because these ornaments normally smell weird!  Adding oils to them is brilliant and you're going to love this craft for the family.

PLUS, USE THEM AS GIFT TAGS.

DIY Essential Oil-Infused Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments

Supplies needed:
• 1 cup flour
• ½ cup salt
• ½ cup water
• Approximately 5 drops of essential oil—combination of Orange and Cinnamon Bark recommended
Kit oil: THIEVES
• Rolling pin
• Cookie cutters
• Baking sheet
• Paint, optional
• Ribbon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Mix together flour and salt in a bowl, then stir in water and essential oils until smooth. Lightly flour countertop. Roll out dough until it’s approximately ¼ inch thick. Cut out ornaments in desired shapes, and don’t forget to include a small hole to string ribbon through. (A plastic straw or wooden skewer works great for this.) Transfer shapes to ungreased baking sheet and cook for 2-3 hours, until completely dry. Remove from oven and allow to cool. At this stage, ornaments may be painted or decorated. String with ribbon, and your ornaments are done!
