Hello my friends! Brenda here and breast cancer awareness is our theme at Sweet Sassy Diva. I really don't have a tutorial for you, but I do have one you can watch from someone else. lol I saw this tutorial and thought was a great idea for using up some scraps. We all have them right?! Some of us more than we need. Not mentioning any names or anything. lol Ok it's me!!! I swear I use my scraps all the time so why is it that they feel like they are mulitplying? Anyway my card uses the Cricut cart Calligraphy for the heart. I used my Gypsy and hide the outline line of the heart to get just the inside heart and then hide the inside line to get just the outside of the heart. Kinda like my shadow because this didn't have a shadow. I also welded the support ribbon from Stand and Salute to the inside heart and just placed a pale pink piece of card stock behind the opening and using some clear crystal I outline my support ribbon. My believe came from My Pink Stamper set of stamps. I also place 5 pearls on the left top and lower right sides of the card. Of course I used all scraps for this card except for the base, but still have a ton of scraps left. I just hand wrote the inside sentiment and used a Martha Steward punch for the heart border. I think that about covers it. You can see the tutorial on how to make the background design with paper scraps here. Thanks for looking!

4th of July Memories!
Good Morning!
This is Jen from 3 Cats and a Bug.
This week at; SSD, the design teams is doing "The big bang" theme.
I love the Stand and Salute cartridge for this type of thing. They have awesome banners and fireworks and rockets!
I used several different cartridge and my gypsy for some welding and hiding contour.
From Stand and Salute:
I cut the banner twice @ 4 and hide every other star and opposite parts on the bottom of the banner on the white paper. On the red paper I hid all contours.
On the red, white and blue fireworks, that was cut @ 3 and I added some stickles to the center.
The rockets were cut @ 1.5 and I flipped one of the images. I added white stickles to the "flame" with a touch of red in the center.
The firecrackers were cut @ 2 with red stickles added to them.
The 4th of July was cut @ 4 and I used my white gel pen to add some depth to it.
From Tinkerbell and Friends:
The other two fireworks were cut @ 4 and 3.5. I added clear stickles to the top layer and then some gems to each "burst".
From MS Birthday Cake:
I cut out the grass @ 1 and welded 4 together for each 12 x 12 page.
From Home Decor:
I cut out the word memories @ 2 and used my white gel pen on that also.
Thanks for looking!

Big Bang!
Hi!! Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway with a 4th of July layout!!
I wasn't sure if I would be able to craft once I fell and broke my right (dominant) wrist. I was determined to make something!!!
We usually host a 4th of July party at our house and I am too busy to take a ton of photos. For this 2-pager, I only left 2 spots for photos....I can take 2 good shots this year right?!?
I got out my Gypsy and tried the left hand orientation but really couldn't make it work, so I switched back.
I strarted out with the star from Stand and Salute sized to 9.59 inches.
This left room for my title 4th of July also from Stand and Salute sized to 4.41 inches.
I cut out this layer in red and blue. Here you can see my beautiful cast!!!
On Layer 2, I put two stars sized to 5.50 inches.
The fireworks are also from Stand and Salute and are sized to 1.82 and 2.41 inches.
The banner pieces are from Independence Day and are sized to 2.06.
I used blue cardstock to cut this layer.
Layer 3 included one star and six fireworks copied from Layer 2.
Also on this layer are the other two banner layers. I grouped the pieces so the top half will be cut in white cardstock and the bottom half will be cut in red cardstock.
Here they are cut out.
I ran the red and blue layers through my Xyron. I stuck the twine on the top of the red layer and sandwiched it between the red and white layers.
Here is the banner assembled.
The musical note paper is Recollections from Michaels. Everytime I think of fireworks, I can hear music in my head...well except for that one episode of the Brady Bunch!!!
I pop-dotted the fireworks to my page and put some stickle dots on the edges.
I had my friend Jenny from YogiMemories ink my edges with Brick Red for me. I thought that would be a disaster if I tried!!!
I pop-dotted the banner flags to my page and wrapped the twine around the back of the paper.
More fireworks and inking.
I really liked how this turned out! I hope I inspired you to create a project that reminds you of a BIG BANG!!
Thanks Bobbi Jo for having me over today!!

Red, White and Blue!
Good Morning!
This is Jen, from 3 Cats and a Bug!
This week over at SweetSassyDiva's; our theme is Red, White and Blue or a Flag.
I went with the Red, White and Blue theme and am counting on pictures of my Grandson this 4th of July. With him in mind, I went with A Child's Year cartridge and the Stand and Salute cartridge. I only used MS Birthday cartridge for the grass, which I cut @ 1 and welded 4 pieces together for each 12 x 12 page. I did that for each layer of the grass. I glued the bottom half of the grass together, leaving the blades free to be curled and lifted to put things under. (This will make sense when you see the picture!)
From A Child's Year, I cut out the boy & car, boy & rocket and boy pulling wagon all @ 4.
I added stickles to all the images. On the rocket, I used a white gel pen and glossy accents on just the rocket.
From the Stand and Salute cartridge I cut out the fireworks @ 4. I had also cut out a banner, but afterwards decided it was just too much.
When I put the 3 layers together, I offset them each just a bit. I added stickles to the centers of each and on one of them I added stickles trailing down. I also added glossy accents to the center of each.

Never Forget!
I remember exactly where I was as I sat all morning glued to the news. I remember holding my son close to me in tears as I watched our country being attacked. That feeling was terrible. But this country came together so strongly. I have never been more proud to be an American. United we stand!!!!!!
This is Misty from The Daily Scrapper.
Today I made a card using the Stand and Salute cartridge. I love the simplicity of the American flag made into the shape of the United States.
As you remember the attack, just remember, we are strong and as a united country anything is possible.
We also have a challenge and prizes this week! Click here for more details!

Gold Fever!

Hello everyone! I have been so busy this last month! It was nice to finally get back home and get a project going. In the past month we...went gold mining at Cache Creek, fishing in Kenai, bought a 2nd 4 wheeler, went on a porker run on the 4 wheelers, drove to Valdez, picked salmonberries, picked blueberries, stayed in Valdez for 16 days, fished in Valdez, attended Valdez Gold Rush Days, went on a historic homes of Valdez walking tour, drove home, got the kids ready for school made salmonberry jelly and finally sent the kids back to school! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh and I am sure there are things in there I forgot lol. So when asked to make a project with the theme of 'What I did on my summer vacation' I had lots of things to chose from. But I picked one and ran with it.
Picked out the paper. All this peper is from my K&Co super stack

Explosion!
Hello all you crafty bloggers, this is Suzanne from Cricutcraftingrammy. Thanks
for joining me on the Sweet
Sassy Design Team today. Hoping you are all have a great Summer
Sassy Design Team today. Hoping you are all have a great Summer
and some 4th of July festivities to celebrate the USA. The challenge for
this project was to use stars not stripes. This was a good challenge
as it is not easy finding paper with stars and no stripes but I managed. I
decided to make an Explosion box with a cute surprise inside. I learned to make
these at an LSS class a couple years ago. Much of the papers
used were from K and Company stacks found at Michael's.
This is three views of the finished product. Remember you can click on
pictures to enlarge.
Start out with 3- 12 x 12 pieces of cardstock- I used red, white and blue.
Next you cut them down and score.
Cut one piece for bottom 9 x 9 and score at 6 inches all sides.
Second piece for center cut to 8 5/8 x 8 5/8and score at 5 3/4 inches all
sides.
The third and top piece cut to 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 and at 5 1/2 inches all
sides.
You will end up with 9 squares. Fold to firm scores and then cutout the 4
corner squares.
I then use decorated papers in this case stars to decorate the
cardstock pages. Cut the pieces a quarter inch smaller than square so the
cardstock color shows through for example the bottom you would cut the pieces 2
3/4" for 3 " square, 2 5/8 for middle and 2 1/4 for top.
You must decorate the bottom side too but I usually decorate both sides of all 3
pages. Next you glue the three on top remember to put them in size order.
Glue only the center piece. I use my ATG gun here.
Next we start with the lid. The lid is 6 1/4 " x 6 1/4 " and is
scored at 4 3/4 ". The diagonally score the corners and fold them in and
glue with a good firm glue. I use Beacons 3 in 1 and once they are glued
flat to sides I clip with bull clips or clothespins till they dry.
For embellishments and the surprise inside I decorated the lid making
another lid and scoring at 4 5/8" to cover first lid. The side strips on lid
were cut at 3 x 1 /4 ". I also decorated the top inside of the box lid so when
it is opened it looks more finished. I then punched a hole in center and
added the top part of a small pinwheel I found at Michael's. I glued this
tight and then covered bottom of box with paper so it didn't show. I
then got out my Stand and Salute and cut out a variety of cuts I liked at 2
inches or smaller to fit on fold outs, sides and top of box. If you want
you can also add stamps and or pictures to these.
For the top I added the dimensional star cut page 32 from Stand and
Salute. I cut it twice at 4 1/2 inches and glued it so it stayed
dimensional. I added a rosette I made with Tim Holtz rosette maker and my
Cuttlebug and then a couple more cuts, some stars on wire from Michaels, and an
embellishment from a K and Company kit at Michaels.
These boxes are a lot of fun to make for any occasion.
I hope you enjoyed the project and would love to hear your comments.

Liberty!
I hope that you have been enjoying the design team challenges that we have every week here. I do hope that it inspires you to create and even play along as well.
This past week the challenge was to do a project using Cricut cartridges with stripes for the 4th of July. No stars! There were a lot of wonderful and creative projects shared here.
In addition, this week the sweetsassydiva Design Team are creating projets using stars only! wow! That is a challenge isn't it?
Well, as it is the 4th of July today, I am sharing my project using stars and stripes.
Before I do so, I wanted to take this time to wish all of our followers and readers a wonderful and safe 4th of July holiday. I hope you enjoy your weekend.
I want to share my appreciation that I have for all the wonderful men and women that serve for our freedoms. Thank you!
A soldier once shared that "Freedom isn't free and every time they think about the freedom, they have to think about a service member who has lost their lives in order for us to have the freedom we have and love!”
Please take a moment to thank our men and women as well as their families for their service and sacrifices. Thank you to all of them!
I made a layout in Red, White and Blue! The heading is "Liberty" and it features the Statue of Liberty, Fireworks and Stars & Stripes!
I used the Stand and Salute cartridge for this layout. On the dark blue firework cut, I used silver metallic ink and sparkling embossing powder. It has a lot of shine and bling. It really shimmers as the light hits it.
The word "Liberty" was cut out in dark blue using the shadow feature. I also cut out the word 'Liberty' in red and white layering them over the shadow. By layering it with pop dots, it gives it great dimension.
I cut out a star frame to showcase the picture from 4th of July in white. Using pigment dark red ink and clear embossing powder, I embossed "Those who reach, touch the stars."
Lady Liberty was cut out in red. By using pigment dark red ink and sparkling embossing powder it highlighted her cuts and added shimmer. She was also cut out in shadow using dark blue cardstock.
Please take a moment to send a thank you to our men and women currently serving as well as our veterans and all their families. Thank you for our freedoms and protecting us so that our babies can live in a safe America!
God Bless America!
Please continue to check all this week for some more amazing projects using stars only!

I made a layout in Red, White and Blue! The heading is "Liberty" and it features the Statue of Liberty, Fireworks and Stars & Stripes!
I made some embellishments using red stitched ribbon, brads and rhinestones. I also added a hat pin with crystal beads for additonal bling!
I used the Stand and Salute cartridge for this layout. On the dark blue firework cut, I used silver metallic ink and sparkling embossing powder. It has a lot of shine and bling. It really shimmers as the light hits it.
Using red and white striped ribbon, I created folds and used rhinestone brads and adhered it to the bottom of the layout. It is reminescent of the flag's stripes especially with the lace star background against the white cardstock.
