Coming & Going!

Well, there are two new Cricut Imagine releases.

Heirloom Papers
Vintage Papers

While I do like a few from the later, I think that I will add the Heirloom papers to my list.  There are more on there that I like plus, they go better with the French Manor cartridge.

It will be nice when the new cricut craftroom software goes live to really get a look at how these look in the other 'original' cartridges.  Unfortunately, the beta does not have them to really get a look at them.  I have been enjoying playing with the beta though.

It is good that Provocraft didn't release a lot of sneak peeks this week.  They had a bunch from the last announcement.  I guess this gives us some time to save up for the ones already released.

They also are retiring some of the 'original' cartridges.  Added to the retired list are Animal Kingdom, Camp out, Home Accents, Home Decor and Wedding.

Speaking of Coming and Going, I have a week until I go on the Cricut Cruise.  I will be enjoying the Caribbean with my darling husband and celebrating 10 amazing years with him!  I may even get him to craft with me!  I think I might have to do a video! :)  Mr. SweetSassyDiva scrapping!!!

Can you believe that 10 years ago we were enjoying a wonderful honeymoon in Paris!  It was wonderful to see the Venus although my darling husband says that I am his Venus!  He enjoyed seeing us side by side! lol  Oh and we cannot forget the Mona Lisa!  That was like a Paparazzi show in of itself!

We climbed to the top of Arc de Triomph and that was a lot of stairs!  Oh and seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time flickering with all those amazing lights! WOW!  The sight of Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower was amazing esp. with my sweetheart by my side!  We also took the trolly up to Basilique du Sacré-Coeur and Paris just sparkled with lights and such a breathtaking view.  It will be wonderful to share more memories with him.  I'm sure that we will have to do some shopping too!  I hear that I just have to buy some jewelry in the Caribbean! :)

Custom flowers!

Hi Jen from 3catsandabug

Let's learn how to make these flowers for your cards.

I needed to make a Thank you card today and wanted flowers other than what I had on hand. I took some tissue paper and cut and layered them about 12 high and put a brad through them.

The color brad doesn't matter since you won't see it anyway. I started with the top layer and crushed the paper towards the center.

I worked each layer separately until they were all scrunched up.

Then I started opening them up, starting with the top, until I had a flower I liked.

I used a sizzix die and a ms punch for the ferns, branches and border. I added two different ribbons and glued everything together. I inked the entire card face with red ink.

Hi everyone

Be Mine!

This week the Sweetsassydiva DT was asked to make a project using the colors red, black & white. I picked my brain for something other than Valentines day.. but I guess this time of year its hard for me lol.
This card was fairly simple to make (most of my projects tend to be.. I guess thats life with a one year old). I cut the red card stock down to 6.5x5 (a tad smaller than the card) and then I cut out the hearts on my Cricut Expression using Doodle Charms, I used both the scalloped heart and the normal heart and cut them all at different sizes.. 3/4 of an inch, 1 inch, 13/4 inch & 3.5 inches. I then adhered the red paper to the front of the card and outlined the big one and wrote in words (I was going for sweetheart type of phrases but, I couldn't remember them all I know I got them wrong lol) with a black glaze pen, it gives the appearence of being embossed. And I used some black Scribbles 3d paint to do 3 dots in each corner of the card.
Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day!

Red, White and Black Challenge!

Hey Ladies this is Summer from Cricut Diaries and this week at Sweet Sassy Diva her DT was asked to make a project using Black,White and Red, this is what I made for you!

Recipe:
Nifty Fiftys Cartridge
Card Stock in Red, Black, White ( I also use some light blue and grey)
Pop Dots
Ribbon
Cuttlebug folder "Stars"
Gel Pens (for detail)

The car and all the layers were cut at 3 inches.

Once I glued all the layers together. I used gel pens to add some detail.

For the base of my card card, I layered Black, White and Red card stock to make a 4x6 card. I then ran the white sheet of card stock through my Cuttlebug using a "star" folder. My strip of paper was a bit long for the folder so I added a black and white ribbon on the end to hid the un-embossed part.

Made with Love!

Valentines is the time for love. Appreciating those that are close to you and those that are far away. What better way to express your feelings with a handmade card for your loved ones?! I just love to paper craft(as I have said many times)! I cant wait to make my projects as soon as they pop into my head. It usually takes me a full day to make just one card. I cant just slap some paper together and call it good. It is a representation of my skills and talents and I want it to look great. I want that 'wow' factor! I made this card using some embossed paper I got over 2 years ago that has sat untouched. I think it turned out well. Of course there are always a few tings that I think I would change for next time but all in all I give it the stamp of approval! ~*Jen*~

~*Recipe*~
~*black and white card stock
~*red rose embossed paper from Leaving Prints
~* misc heart cuts from my Cricut Cartridges worked up on my Gypsy
~*white lace and black yarn
~*Pink by Design stamp

I started out by picking my Valentines type colors and paper~
Planned out my cuts on my Gypsy~

Laid out my paper on my mats and cut~

Got a little paper doily for the envelope~

Filled it full of 'love'~

Put together my ribbon on my card~

Glued on a ribbon bow, the envelope and the greeting :D The result is a fun card to share with anyone!

Cricut Everyday!

received my exclusive Cricut Circle cartridge today called Cricut Everyday.

So far it seems that the Gypsy and Design Studio are not up to date with the actual content of the cartridge.  The cartridge contains a phrase and phrase shadow that are not reflected nor does the actual cartridge have a font1 shadow as previously shown.

Also, the new cartridge does not have the new anniversary logo but, the old bug head as are on the storefront cartridge.  I also plugged it into my Expression and you can see below that it is indeed the old logo to match the photo above of the handbook.

They also did not update the new software program but, rather kept the Design Studio instead on this cart.

Here is a more detailed video on the Cricut Everday!  If you are following on email subscription, click here to view.

If you are a cricut circle member, will you be selling your cartridge and how much are you going to try to sell it for? If you are not a circut circle member, will you be looking to buy the cartridge and how much are you willing to spend?

What will you make with the cartridge?
