Gypsy and Imagine Updates!

Gypsy/Imagine Update (PHASE 1)

1. Edge to Edge printing (Imagine only update)

- Full bleed (may leave a small boarder on your paper depending on how well it is aligned)

- Overspray: this will print just beyond the edge of the paper leaving a bit of ink on your mat which can easily be rinsed out with warm water – this assures a full bleed.

PHASE 1 Gypsy/Imagine Compatibility

1. Allows you to cut your classic Cricut Cartridges with Cricut Imagine using Gypsy (no printing using Gypsy, yet)

2. Cricut Imagine and Gypsy bug fixes: this will be standard with most upgrades to ensure you have the best experience with your machines.

3. No special Gypsy design features with Imagine content (like welding, stretching, etc.), just yet.

Steps for Using a Cached Pattern

1. To use your cached pattern select the image you want and edit it by clicking on the pencil icon to go to the Edit screen.

2. Select the cached pattern and it will be added to the image or layer you selected.

Steps for Deleting a Cached Pattern

1. To delete a cached pattern select and hold your stylus down on the cached pattern

2. A small box will pop up saying, “Clear Pattern.” Select it and the cached pattern will be deleted in a couple of seconds.

3. Also, simply turning off the Imagine will delete all cached patterns.

Scrapbox!

I came across this site Scrap Box.  It is in MI and is quite interesting.  They sell recycled and scraps from manufacturers.  Unfortunately, it is a bit far from me to go check it out personally but, perhaps some of you might live nearby.

I had another post about reduce reuse recycle in my archives.  I don't know if I can consider my latest project a recycle because I did buy them new.  I took some too long plastic tabs and cut them in half so...I was able to double the amount and reduced how much it would cost to buy more.  :)  What crafts have you made from recycled materials?

which will be in my 12x12 hanging file folders and in these great files that I picked up on clearance!

Think Pink!

I created this Pink and Brown layout for the Think Pink challenge.  As I do not have the Pink Journey cartridge, I created a similar layout using Home Decor.  You could easily use this layout for a breast cancer survivor or any type of illness.  I used it for my darling daughter and I will also make one for my darling son.  We went through a lot of fertility treatments and years of wanting these little miracles.  First we hoped and prayed for a miracle.  Thankfully we received our little miracles.

The flowers match perfectly with the butterfly that I created on the Imagine.  I created a rose out of satin ribbon and used it as the dot over the 'i' in miracle.  The flowers and the leaves were hand inked to match the butterfly.  I also added some glitter to the flowers and they are even still wet in the photo.  They are a little glossy but, as they dry it will add a beautiful glisten.  The centers are glittered brads.  I used some beautiful gems to bling the scalloped and flourished frame that I matted my daughter's photo.  She is even blinged out in her beautiful dress.  Each piece has beautiful flourishes that give it a very graceful feel.

I cut out the shadow feature in a rich brown.  On the frame, I used the hide contour feature on the Gypsy and even flipped and rotated the image on the mat.  So, I used the Imagine, Gypsy and the Expression on this layout.  I love to use my 12"x24" mat and on this layout I placed the shadow cuts on one side and the intricate cuts on the other side of the 12"x24" mat.  This looks so beautiful in person in the pale pink and brown.  I will do another one in chocolate and blue for my son.

You should see this in person!  It is so beautiful and the rose has such beautiful folds and dimension.
I have a few layouts that I have saved in my Gypsy and hope to someday have a pink expression to make them with the Pink Journey solution cartridge.  However, I do love how this turned out and has a similar flair and feel.
