Speechless!

Well, we just bought new glasses as you recall the saga.

This is what he looked like just this morning.

Here is a picture of my son as he just arrived home.

I have no clue what happened! I did not send him to school this way. I expect my child to come back in the condition I send them in! I know too much to ask!?

I have a note "he fell on the playground and scraped his face. His glasses were also scratched. I cleaned the scrapes off but could not put band aids on. He was very brave even though he said it hurt."

Thankfully, he did not break anything but, he has quite the bump on the head. Shouldn't a call home be made? Moreover this is not a mere fall. What happened? I'll never know.

I'm off to find out how much that will cost.

April Showers!

Hello Everyone- This is Summer from Cricutdiaries.com and this week over at SSD I was asked to choose this weeks theme.... And I chose Easel Cards! This is one of my favorite folds and after you do one, it is very easy to remember.

I wanted to use my new April Showers cart so I made my card a "Spring" card.
Recipe:
Imagine More Card
April Showers
White card stock
Clear Stickles
Lavender Ink (I used stampin Up!)
Purple and white gel pens

For this card I printed and cut 2 squares with a pattern from IMC , those squares were cut at 4.7. The banner (both layers) were cut at 1.5, the tree at 3, the house at 3.5 and the flower was cut at 1.5.

For the base of the Easel card I cut a strip of white card stock at 5x10 and another at 5x5. I folded the larger strip in half to form a 5x5 card, then the top portion of the card (that would have been the front) and folded that in half again (2.5). I inked all the edges in a lavender ink.

Then I adhered my patterned squares to the full, no folded inside of the card and on the 5x5 square. That 5x5 square will be glued to the 2.5 inch folded strip on the top of the card.

For this view you can see how the 5x5 square attaches.

I used pop dots, Stickles and the purple gel pen to add detail to the entire card as well as the images I cut out. I hope you enjoy my "Spring" card and I hope that you enjoy all the Easel's you see this week!

What I Love About You!

Welcome to the What it means to love you Blog hop!  If you arrived here first, be sure to start at the beginning by Clicking here!  If you arrived from lifesgr8whnbugged, then you are in the right place!  Welcome!

What it means to love you?  Well, for my darling husband and myself, it is that we married our BFF.  He also, scrapped with me on the Cricut Cruise that I earned and celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary.  I tell you that sure says love to scrap with your wife!  Ok he isn't looking to take it up anytime soon and did decline taking on a post weekly or even monthly.  We enjoy spending time together and really are inseparable!  He sure does lend a hand and when I ask him what he thinks about something or to pick an option, he is right there!  Love is holding on to each other and remembering the good times while working through the tough times.
Our son helped to make a card for the hop and is really enjoying the cuddlebug.  I am sure that our daughter will help when she's older.

Here is the card that we made about the 10 things I love about you!

We used the Cricut Imagine Best Friends Cartridge and selected the print and cut option.  We layered the 10 things I love about you! icon on page 15.  We used the bonus content on page 29 and changed the background to the yellow print on page 41.

Here are the layers printed and cut on the mat.

We took two coordinating 80# cardstock to create a card.  The pale yellow cardstock was cut to make a mat on top.
Here is my son with the cuddlebug.  He sure is excited to help out and run everything though it.

It came with a flower embossing folder.  He ran the yellow cardstock through the Cuttlebug.

We then, adhered all the layers and tied a cute ribbon I had in my stash that just looks like it was made for this folder.

Here is the card completed!  Now, for the fun part!  Writing all the reasons that I love him!  I think I might need to use the Yourstory and glue in some more pages!  Good it is the top 10 reasons!

Salmon baked in paper!

Dh had to work late for St. Patrick's Day. I thought I would make him a nice dinner.

You can use fresh salmon filets or economize and clean a can of salmon.

I placed the salmon on a piece of parchment paper and assembled a packet to wrap.

Click here to view how to assemble and wrap!

Here are the packets ready to go into the pre-heated 400 degree oven. They will bake for approximately 20 minutes.

While the oven is pre-heating, boil a pot of water and cut the ends off of the green beans. When the water is boiling, place the fresh green beans in the water for approximately 10 minutes. Tip: don't place the green beans into the boiling water until 10 minutes into the baking of the salmon.

Strain the beans and plate them.

Now it is time to unwrap the parchment packets.

It's all ready to rest on the bed of green beans. Make sure to pour the juices on the plate too.

Viola!!

Pair with your favorite wine! Usually fish is paired with a white but, we prefer red.

I also made a dessert for St. Patrick's Day.

I froze some mint shake in ramekins like I did with the strawberry cake earlier in the week. I then released it and set it on some mini yellow cake. Of course a strawberry on top.

What did you do for St. Patrick's Day?

Thank you!

I made this Thank You card by welding images from Gypsy Wanderings, Gypsy Font and Tags, Bags, Boxes and more.  I outlined the front of the card by replacing the blade housing with the cricut markers.  It gives more emphasis on the butterfly, flower and Thank you.  In addition, I used Graphic 45 paper, Dew Drops, ribbon and a beautiful antique button pre-WWII.  There is so much detail in the button that just is not captured in the picture.  It has 4 delicate pressed flowers in the center which you cannot begin to even see in this photo.

I used the Color Box Paintbox Ocean breeze in a chalk ink to help the card pop.

Inside the card is a beautiful coordinating print.  You can leave it or add a coordinating solid cardstock to write your personalized message.  The pictures do not do this justice!  It looks beautiful in hand!

I did need to use the little dental pick to get the small little pieces out.  Some of them wanted to stay for the delivery of the message.  I do not blame them because it makes it hard with all its beauty to send this thank you to another home.

I hope that this inspires you to create something unique and all you! And as always, please send me a message and let me know how this inspires you.

New Cricut Cartridge Releases!

Here are the new cricut cartridge releases!  Although you might have seen them on the web floating around over the last week, I thought you would like to see them all in one spot.

The Hello Thursday ladies will be releasing their take on designing with these today.  Which ones do you think are a must have and which ones are a pass?

This is a seasonal:  Graduation!
Seasonal: Luau!

Seasonal: Father's Day!

Now, a drum roll for the full cartridge releases this month.  Damask Decor!

Pop-Up Neighborhood!
4th Quarter Circle Cartridge

Elegant Edges!

Everyday Pop-Up Cards!

Some of these have also been spotted in the retailers as early as last week.  It also seems to be a trend on increasing cricut cartridge prices.  What price will you pay for a cartridge that is a must have?  How much is a price that you just can't pass up on a cart that isn't one that you love?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  What plans do you have today?  It's beautiful and warm out here today so, I think we will be spending some time outside before the temps dip.
